The Ávila bulletin of August 10 remains without accessible text.

Por FactBox Admin

The edition of the Official Bulletin of the Province of Ávila for Monday, August 10, 2026, has been left without accessible text: the eleven announcements published that day by the Provincial Council of Ávila and by nine town councils of the province exist only as PDF documents, with no extracted content or search capability. The check carried out this August 13 confirms that none of the pieces from that day appear in the system’s text index. In addition, the daily automatic download of the journal fails due to a configuration error that prevents the service from recognizing the bulletin.

The Official Bulletin of the Province of Ávila (BOP of Ávila) is the official journal of the province, published from Monday to Friday, and makes known the provisions, calls and announcements of the Provincial Council and of the town councils of Ávila. The August 10 edition is distributed on the council’s official portal (diputacionavila.es) through the day’s entry, which groups each announcement in a separate file. The publication is registered as operational in the archive system, but it has no download run completed successfully.

Eleven announcements, ten entities

The August 10 edition brings together eleven announcements distributed among ten entities:

  • Provincial Council of Ávila, area of Human Resources, Internal Administration, Organization and Transparency (one announcement).
  • Ávila City Council (two announcements, one of them on Human Resources).
  • Town Council of Arenas de San Pedro.
  • Town Council of Casas del Puerto.
  • Town Council of El Parral.
  • Town Council of Riocabado (two announcements).
  • Town Council of San Esteban de los Patos.
  • Town Council of Solana de Ávila.
  • Town Council of Solana de Rioalmar.

Since the text has not been extracted from the files, it is not possible to verify the content of these pieces: names, deadlines, terms or subject matters of the announcements cannot be confirmed. For that reason, this news item is limited to documenting the existence of the edition and its access status, without accepting as certain any content that cannot be verified in the official text.

The eleven PDFs of the day were incorporated into the archive on August 12, but none passed the text conversion phase: word searches on the publication return zero results, and there is no official reference for this edition of the CVE document type allowing each announcement to be cited unambiguously. In the journal as a whole, of the six preserved editions, only eight of the 43 documents have extracted text, indicating that the problem is not limited to August 10.

The lack of text prevents responding to readers’ usual queries about appointments, tenders, grants, or municipal procedures. Both the Provincial Council of Ávila and the affected town councils have published announcements that, for all purposes, are untraceable for documentary search.

Automatic download, blocked

The daily ingestion of the BOP of Ávila is scheduled from Monday to Friday at 08:00 via a recurring system task. The last attempt, executed this August 13, ended in error before downloading any file: the service returns the unknown journal message, because the key under which the bulletin is registered does not appear in the list of headers accepted by the execution engine. The task remains open and will run again on the next business day, but it will continue to fail until the configuration is corrected.

The failure affects both new editions and the possibility of reprocessing previous ones: until it is fixed, each new bulletin accumulates in the archive as a PDF without text and without traceability.

Why it matters

For readers in Ávila —residents, businesses, civil service candidates, and media— the official bulletin is the only reliable means of learning about calls and agreements of the Provincial Council and of the town councils. An entire edition remaining without extracted text means that, for an indefinite period, none of its announcements can be consulted, cited, or verified. Correcting the download configuration and reprocessing the August 10 edition are therefore a necessary condition to restore public access to the province’s official information.
