El Bierzo makes its 2026 regional budget final

The Bierzo Regional Council has finalized its Regional Budget for the year 2026, along with the personnel staffing plan, as the public exhibition period has elapsed without any objections being filed. The agreement, signed by the president Olegario Ramón Fernández on August 27, 2026, in Ponferrada, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 164, dated August 28, 2026, with reference BOP-LE-2026-164013.

The publication is carried out in compliance with article 169.3 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The consolidated budget amounts to 3,951,928.92 euros, a figure that guarantees the financing of regional services and public employment in the Bierzo region.

A consolidated budget of 3.95 million

The definitively approved budget integrates the accounts of the Regional Council itself, the Bierzo Tourism Board, the Ponfeblino Consortium, and the Biosphere Reserve Consortium, with the corresponding consolidation adjustments. The bulk of the income comes from current transfers, totaling 3,806,578.92 euros, supplemented by fees, public prices, and patrimonial income.

In the expenditure chapter, the most significant item is personnel, with 2,834,120.20 euros, followed by current expenses for goods and services, which reach 996,667.72 euros. Current transfers and financial expenses complete the breakdown of the expenditure budget, which closes at the same figure of 3,951,928.92 euros.

Personnel staffing and execution bases

Along with the budget, the execution bases and the personnel staffing plan of the Bierzo Regional Council for 2026 are approved, which is broken down into civil servant personnel and contractual staff. The document also includes the personnel staffing plan of the Bierzo Tourism Board 2026, in its contractual staff section.

Processing and appeals

The agreement, adopted after provisional approval and the public information period without objections, may be challenged before the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction, according to the requirements, formalities, and causes set forth in articles 170 and 171 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The document was electronically signed by the president on August 27, 2026.

The elevation of the budget to final status consolidates the financial framework that will allow the Consejo Comarcal del Bierzo to provide its services to the municipalities of the region and maintain its staff during the 2026 fiscal year, within a context of dependence on current transfers to finance regional activity.
