Education Department revokes the authorization of the Pinocho y su Amigo nursery school in Seville
Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Education of the Regional Government of Andalusia has agreed to the extinction of the authorization for the early childhood education center «Pinocho y su Amigo», in Seville, due to the cessation of activities. The decision is formalized through the Order of October 27, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA) no. 213, of November 4, 2026, with text no. 14439. The agreement directly affects families with minors enrolled in the center and its staff.
The order is included in section 3. Other provisions of the gazette, within the block of resolutions of the Department of Education, and spans two pages. The extinction is agreed upon via a singular order, the instrument used by the department that directs Andalusian educational policy to resolve the administrative situation of a specific center.
The same issue of the BOJA includes another provision from the same department, the Order of October 28, 2026, which extends and updates the authorization of certain teachings in public teaching centers (text no. 14440), placing the extinction of the Sevillian center within the framework of the ordinary activity of organizing the network of teaching centers.
An extinction due to cessation of activities
The order does not withdraw the authorization due to non-compliance or as a sanction: it extinguishes it because the center itself has ceased its activity. In other words, the enabling title disappears as the activity that sustained it disappears, and the center ceases to appear as an authorized center for providing early childhood education in the province of Seville.
The administrative sequence is fixed in the official calendar: the agreement is signed on October 27, 2026, and published eight days later, on November 4, in issue 213 of the regional gazette, corresponding to year XLVIII. Publication in the official gazette is what gives the decision a public character and makes it enforceable against third parties.
Four closures of early childhood centers in two months
The extinction of «Pinocho y su Amigo» is not an isolated case in the final stretch of 2026. The Department of Education has published orders of the same type in recent weeks, all of them due to the cessation of activities:
- Order of October 2, 2026: termination of the authorization for the early childhood education center «Los Pitufos» in Isla Cristina (Huelva), published in BOJA no. 201, of October 16, 2026 (text no. 13086).
- Order of October 2, 2026: termination of the authorization for the center «Hermosines II» in Palma del Río (Córdoba), in BOJA no. 197, of October 9, 2026 (text no. 13250).
- Order of October 2, 2026: termination of the authorization for the center «Ratón Pérez» in Córdoba, in BOJA no. 197, of October 9, 2026.
- Order of September 9, 2026: termination of the authorization for the center «El Osito Azul II» in Sevilla, in BOJA no. 180, of September 16, 2026.
The pattern is common: private early childhood education centers that communicate the end of their activity and whose authorization is terminated through an order signed by the regional ministry, spanning two pages and published in the “other provisions” section.
What this means for families and staff
The termination of the authorization implies that the center loses the enabling title required by the educational Administration to operate as a teaching center. For families, the effect is immediate insofar as the service they have been using is no longer covered by a current administrative authorization; for the staff, the cessation of activities means the end of the center’s activity as an employer within the framework of the terminated authorization.
Unlike other resolutions in the bulletin, the order does not include any reference in its title to a transitional regime or a service continuity plan, meaning that the students’ situation depends on the families’ ability to relocate the minors to other centers in the area.
Publication in the BOJA turns the agreement into a document that can be consulted by any interested family, worker, or entity, and allows for the verification of the exact date of the center’s administrative closure. This traceability is what allows families to prove to third parties the status of the center where their children were enrolled.
