The Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training has announced the transfer competition for civil servant teaching staff of the secondary education, official language schools, music and performing arts, plastic arts and design, vocational training, teachers, and educational inspection bodies for the 2026/27 academic year. The call is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 211, of November 4, 2026, by means of the Order of October 14, 2026, with the reference CVE-DOG: z8fj8rs2-9qn3-64s8-udw2-slc2cnuogl09. The deadline for submitting applications is from November 5 to 26, 2026, both days inclusive.
The order was signed by the counselor Román Rodríguez González and bases its call on Royal Decree 1364/2010, of October 29, modified by Royal Decree 677/2024, of July 16, as well as Order EFD/1041/2026, of September 30, which establishes the procedural rules applicable to state-level transfer competitions to be called during the 2026/27 academic year. The regulation enters into force the day following its publication.
The competition includes not only the vacancies existing at the time of the call, but also those resulting from forced retirement at 70 during the academic year, from retirements or other circumstances until December 31, 2026, and those resulting from the resolution of the competition itself in each body. Provisional and definitive vacancies will be published on the department’s website (www.edu.xunta.gal) by resolution of the General Directorate of Centers and Human Resources.
Fourteen bodies with positions in competition
The call covers the teaching bodies with the following codes:
- Inspectors at the service of the Educational Administration: 509
- Education inspectors: 510
- Secondary education professors (Catedráticos): 511
- Secondary education teachers: 590
- Technical vocational training teachers: 591
- Professors and teachers of official language schools: 512 and 592
- Professors and teachers of music and performing arts: 593 and 594
- Professors, teachers, and workshop teachers of plastic arts and design: 513, 595, and 596
- Teachers (Mestres): 597

Personnel from the inspector bodies may only apply for the positions of the headquarters listed in Annex II, all with specialty code 600, while the rest of the groups compete for the positions in the corresponding annexes according to their specialty.
Electronic application and up to 300 requests
The application for participation is processed through the standardized procedure ED012A; those with an outdated file must also submit a request for the update or modification of data through procedure ED011A, along with the supporting documentation. These are the essential points of the process:
- Single deadline: November 26, 2026, with no subsequent admission of applications or complementary documentation.
- Maximum of 300 requests per person, which may be for a specific center and/or locality.
- Positions in multilingual centers require accreditation of the B2 level of the corresponding language.
- In certain specialties, the Celga 4 in the Galician language is an essential requirement.
- Voluntary participation requires two years to have elapsed since taking possession of the last definitive destination.
Scale, evaluation commission, and preferential rights
Merits are valued according to the scales in annexes XVII and XVIII, and all requirements must be met by the application deadline date. The Evaluation Commission will be appointed by public draw on December 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM, in the board room of the department, based at the Educational Inspection of Santiago de Compostela; the unions of the teaching sectoral table may attend with voice but without vote.
Provisional resolutions will be published on the department’s website and may be appealed within ten business days, a period during which a withdrawal may also be submitted. Ordinary allocation will be resolved by the scale score, with priority for those exercising a preferential right to a center and, subsequently, to the locality or educational zone.
Definitive destinations from September 1, 2027
The definitive resolution will be issued by the General Directorate of Centers and Human Resources and published in the DOG and on the department’s website; the maximum period for resolution is six months from the end of the application period, with the effect of negative administrative silence. Allocated positions are non-renounceable, and the taking of possession of new destinations will have administrative effectiveness from September 1, 2027. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.
The call affects all civil servant teachers in Galicia and also personnel from other educational administrations who wish to apply for Galician positions, in addition to groups with mandatory participation, such as teachers in internships or in a provisional destination situation. For students and families, the result will determine the configuration of the faculties and the filling of vacancies in centers and in the educational inspection starting from the coming school year.
