Education expands and updates authorized teachings in Andalusian public centers

The Regional Ministry of Education of the Junta de Andalucía has expanded and updated the authorization of certain educational programs in public teaching centers through the Order of October 28, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) No. 213, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The text appears in section 3, Other provisions, under number 14440 and spans 28 pages.

The regulation falls within the competency framework of the Junta de Andalucía regarding educational matters and aims to update the catalog of programs that each public teaching center is authorized to provide. The wording of the title—“expands and updates”—indicates that the order does not create a new regime, but rather reviews and completes existing authorizations, incorporating new programs and updating those previously granted.

Scope of the authorization

The authorization of educational programs is the administrative act by which the Regional Ministry determines which studies each public teaching center may impart. Based on this, the educational offer for the course, the configuration of groups, and the allocation of human and material resources to the centers are subsequently organized.

The order published today affects only public teaching centers, not the private or semi-private (concertada) network, and is markedly case-specific: its 28-page length makes it one of the most voluminous texts in issue 213, in which most provisions occupy between one and five pages. This breadth responds to the need to list, center by center, the programs whose authorization is being expanded or updated.

Official publication and effects

The Order of October 28, 2026, had undergone eight days of internal processing before appearing in the gazette, as it was published in BOJA No. 213 on November 4, corresponding to Year XLVIII of the regional official journal. Its insertion in section 3 (Other provisions) implies its full publication and its incorporation into the regional legal system with the effective date established by the order itself.

The same issue of the gazette includes other decisions from the Regional Ministry of Education that complete the overview of the educational planning for the course:

• Order of October 27, 2026, agreeing to the termination of authorization due to cessation of activities for the early childhood education center «Pinocho y su Amigo» in Seville (number 14439).

• Resolution of October 27, 2026, from the Territorial Delegation of Education in Seville, regarding the merit competition for the position of Coordinator of the Educational Compensation Area (number 14377).

Added to this, in the field of Vocational Training, are the previous works of the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Lifelong Learning, which in September approved the offer and curricular specification of the optional modules for Grade D cycles starting from the 2026/2027 academic year (BOJA no. 189, of September 29, 2026, number 12586).

Relevance for the educational community

The update of authorized teachings directly affects the offer that each public center can include in the schooling process and, with it, the number of available places and the teaching needs of each staff. Families participating in the admission procedures for the next academic year must consult the list of authorized teachings for each center to know which cycles and modalities students may take, while management teams and teachers will find in this order the framework that organizes their academic offer.
