Education extends the deadline for grants for students with ADHD

The Department of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has extended by five business days the deadline for submitting applications for grants for the 2025-2026 academic year intended for students with specific educational support needs associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with or without hyperactivity. The new deadline is set for September 17, 2026, inclusive, according to the extract of the Order of September 8, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands number 184, of September 14.

The measure is processed through a non-competitive concurrence procedure and affects the grants originally called for by Order No. 756/2026, of July 15, aimed at students in non-university public educational centers with ADHD who do not have a recognized disability status equal to or greater than 25%.

Regulatory Framework and Beneficiaries

Families of students who meet the following requirements may apply for these grants:

• Be enrolled in non-university public educational centers in the Canary Islands.
• Present specific educational support needs associated with ADHD.

With the extension, the application submission period, which initially concluded according to the call of July 15, is extended by five additional business days. The new end date is set for September 17, 2026, inclusive.
