Education awards Retorna Talento FP grants to 39 Galicians from abroad

The Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training has resolved the awarding of grants for the Retorna Talento FP 2026 program, aimed at Galician people residing abroad who return to Galicia to pursue vocational training studies. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) number 181, dated September 23, 2026, in section III, Other provisions, by means of the Resolution of September 17, 2026 (reference CVE-DOG 2wd9wpw9-h146-xek4-4180-cqyvg73r2729).

The resolution is issued once the procedures established in article 14 of the Order of December 17, 2025, which approves the regulatory bases and calls for the Retorna Talento FP program, published in the DOG of January 26, have been completed. The program is aimed at Galician people residing abroad interested in returning and pursuing specific vocational training studies in educational centers in Galicia starting in 2026.

The endowment, the amount, the distribution of payments, and the conditions for the awarding of the grants are those established in the aforementioned order. The list of beneficiaries will be published on the department’s educational portal (https://www.edu.xunta.gal). The resolution is signed, by delegation (Order of 5.6.2024; DOG no. 114, of June 13), by the technical general secretary, Manuel Vila López.

Four training destinations

Annex I of the resolution contains the list of selected people, distributed across four training cycles and their centers:

• Higher cycle in Tourist Accommodation Management, at the CIFP de Vilamarín: 15 people.
• Higher cycle in Viticulture and Enology, at the CIFP A Granxa: 9 people.
• Intermediate cycle in Construction, at the CIFP de Cantería de Galicia: 5 people.
• Higher cycle in Automotive, with specialization in Competition Vehicles, at the CIFP As Mercedes: 10 people.

In total, the resolution grants aid to 39 people.

Publication, effects and right of appeal

The publication of the list of beneficiaries has the same effects as notification, according to article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations.

Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, interested parties may file an optional appeal for reversal before the Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training within one month from the day following its publication in the DOG, or an administrative-law appeal within two months before the Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia.

The award closes the selection process of the first call of this program and confirms the effective return of 39 people trained abroad to four reference centers of Galician vocational training, in a commitment to retain talent and cover technical profiles in sectors such as tourism, wine, construction, and automotive.
