Economía aprueba el calendario de fiestas locales de 2027 en Ciudad Real

The Provincial Delegation of Economy, Business and Employment of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha in Ciudad Real has approved the list of local holidays for 2027 in the 102 municipalities of the province. The resolution, signed on October 19 by the provincial delegate Miguel Ángel Díaz Brazazles, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 202, dated October 20, 2026 (announcement number 3389), with the complete annex of localities and dates. The calendar determines the two local working holidays that will govern the coming year in each municipal district.

The agreement is adopted under article 37.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, which approves the Revised Text of the Workers’ Statute Law, and article 46 of Royal Decree 2001/83, of July 28. It is further supported by Decree 99/2013, of November 28, on the attribution of competencies in matters of labor, occupational risk prevention and employment, and Decree 64/2025, of September 9, which establishes the organic structure of the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment.

The text states that the proposals were formulated by the various city councils at the request of the Provincial Delegation and verified “regarding their non-coincidence with Sundays, national holidays and those of the Autonomous Community.” The agreement contains three points: to approve the list as an annex to the resolution, to send it to the provincial gazette for publication, and to grant a period of fifteen days from publication for the councils to request the correction of errors.

Two dates per municipality across three pages of annex

The annex, which occupies pages 9892 to 9894 of the gazette, lists the municipalities alphabetically with their two holidays. Some examples:

  • Abenójar: May 15 and June 24.
  • Alcázar de San Juan: May 15 and September 8.
  • Almagro: August 5 and 24.
  • Ciudad Real: May 17 and July 31.
  • Daimiel: September 1 and 3.
  • Manzanares: July 9 and September 14.
  • Puertollano: September 8 and May 13.
  • Tomelloso: August 25 and 31.
  • Valdepeñas: August 2 and September 8.
  • Villarta de San Juan: January 25 and June 24.

The calendar extends from January to December: the earliest holiday is January 18 in Puerto Lápice, and the latest is December 31 in El Robledo.

May and September concentrate the majority of holidays

The distribution of the annex shows a strong seasonal concentration. September 8 is the most repeated date, present in 21 municipalities, including Agudo, Calzada de Calatrava, Socuéllamos and Villarrubia de los Ojos. This is followed by September 14, with 15 localities, and May 14, with nine.

  • 38 municipalities place their first local holiday in May, with May 3 and 14 being the most chosen dates.
  • September 8 appears as the second holiday in 21 town halls and September 14 in 15.
  • Only three localities open their calendar in January: Puerto Lápice, Fernán Caballero, Valdemanco del Esteras, Cabezarrubias del Puerto, La Solana, and Villarta de San Juan.

Fifteen days to correct and labor effects

Town halls have fifteen days from the date of publication to report errors in the dates assigned to their municipality. The resolution recalls that local holidays are those determined by each council within the legal limit and that their fixing corresponds to the provincial labor authority, which verifies that they do not coincide with Sundays or national or regional holidays.

The calendar directly affects the economic activity of the province: Ciudad Real concentrates its two holidays in May and July, while industrial towns such as Puertollano and Tomelloso distribute them between September, May, and August. Businesses, companies, and workers must adjust agreements, shifts, and openings to the now-published list.

The publication of the annex in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real makes these dates the reference labor calendar for 2027 throughout the province, with direct effects on contracts, workforce planning, and commercial activity in the 102 municipalities.
