Don Benito opens 60 free training places for vulnerable groups

The Don Benito City Council has published the guidelines for the selection of students for the EFESO Program (Employment, Education, Training, and Social Economy), which offers 60 free places for training in professional certificates aimed at people in situations or at risk of social exclusion. The call is detailed in Announcement 3307/2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 159, dated August 20, 2026, and signed by the mayor-president, Elisabeth Medina Bravo.

The program, funded by European funds, seeks to improve the employability and socio-labor insertion of groups furthest from the labor market through integrated and personalized insertion itineraries, which will be developed between 2026 and 2027. Participation is free for all admitted persons.

Three professional certificates

The training offer is organized into four itineraries corresponding to three professional certificates, with participation of between 8 and 15 students per itinerary in each edition:

• SEAG0209 – Cleaning in open spaces and industrial facilities (level 1), 270 hours.
• SEAG0108 – Urban and industrial waste management (level 2), 455 hours.
• AGAO0208 – Installation and maintenance of gardens and green areas (level 2), 540 hours, in two editions.

Each itinerary combines specific theoretical-practical training, non-labor professional internships in companies, transversal and complementary training, tutoring, and guidance. The training will be delivered in person, during morning and/or afternoon shifts from Monday to Friday.

Who can participate

Unemployed persons, registered as job seekers and residents of Don Benito, who belong to vulnerable groups according to the resolution of October 17, 2023, may apply for a place:

• Long-term unemployed persons (12 months or more).
• Persons over 45 years old, particularly women.
• Persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33%.
• Third-country nationals and participants of foreign origin.
• Persons belonging to minorities.
• Persons in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability accredited by social services.

Priority will be given to those residing in areas classified as degraded or vulnerable within the municipality. For level 2 certificates, an ESO qualification (compulsory secondary education) or equivalent is required, while level 1 has no academic requirements.

Applications and scholarship

Applications shall be submitted at the municipal registry or through the electronic office, addressed to the EFESO Program technical team, from the day following publication until September 31, 2026, a deadline that may be extended until all places are filled. Selection will be carried out via a scoring system, with a maximum of 16 points, and a reserve list will be established to cover vacancies.

Students may receive a grant of 13.45 euros per day attended, which covers 100% of the training hours, provided they do not have income exceeding 75% of the IPREM and successfully complete the itinerary. Full information is available on the website donbenito.es/efeso.
