Domodossola, 396,758 euro variation for the restoration of the Galletti Theatre

The Municipality of Domodossola has approved a contract variation of 396,758.09 euros for the restoration and conservative rehabilitation of the Teatro Comunale Galletti, bringing the net value of the contract to 2,708,834.40 euros. The measure is Municipal Council Resolution no. 82 of July 30, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic, 5th Special Series – Public Contracts no. 112 of October 2, 2026 with reference TX26BFF411. The notice is signed by the manager Eng. Marco Guatta, head of the Heritage Area – Land Management – Civil Protection.

The intervention is part of the NRRP, Mission 5, Component 2, Investment 2.1 “Urban Regeneration”, funding which – as specified in the notice – “has now shifted to be drawn from national resources pursuant to art. 1, par. 42 of Law 160/2019”. The original contract was awarded with Determination no. 970 of July 18, 2023, and the relative tender outcome was published in the G.U. 5th Special Series – Public Contracts no. 145 of December 18, 2023.

Reasons for the modification

The variation was made necessary by situations and circumstances provided for by art. 106, paragraph 1, letters b) and c), of Legislative Decree 50/2016, in particular:

• necessary modifications to the positioning of technological systems;
• discovery of archaeological finds, which required changing the execution methods and providing for enhancement works in agreement with the competent Superintendency;
• works requested by the Fire Brigade following the examination of the executive project.

For the capital of Ossola, this is a symbolic work for the territory, whose construction site is extending and becoming more complex: the variation adds nearly 400 thousand euros to a contract of over 2.3 million, with a new net value of 2,708,834.40 euros charged to public finance, now national and no longer NRRP. The declared causes – systems, archaeological finds, and Fire Brigade requirements – explain the delays and increased costs, while the deadline for appeal remains set at the TAR Piemonte.
