Dodro opens applications for schooling grants for the 2026-2027 academic year

The Dodro City Council opens the call for financial aid for schooling for the 2026-2027 academic year, intended to compensate families for the costs of school materials, extracurricular activities, and sports clothing. The measure was approved by Mayoral Resolution number 512/2026, dated September 4, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 172, dated September 9, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5819.

The call is processed through a competitive bidding procedure and aims to promote equal opportunities in the exercise of the right to education, alleviating social differences and favoring the integration of students into the educational system. The maximum global amount that the Council will allocate to the grants is 4,000.00 euros, charged to budget application 326.48000.

Beneficiaries and requirements

Families with students enrolled in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, in Primary Education, and in Compulsory Secondary Education during the 2026-2027 academic year may apply for the grants. The applicant must be registered in the Dodro City Council with a minimum seniority of three months, a requirement that will be verified ex officio.

The evaluation criterion requires that the household does not exceed the annual income limit set based on the IPREM in force for 2026 (7,200.00 euros per year), according to the number of members:

• 2-member household: up to 2.8 IPREM (€20,160.00)
• 3-member household: up to 3.5 IPREM (€25,200.00)
• 4-member household: up to 4.1 IPREM (€29,520.00)
• 5-member household: up to 4.6 IPREM (€33,120.00)
• 6-member household: up to 5 IPREM (€36,000.00)

From the sixth member onwards, 2,160.00 euros (0.3 IPREM) are added for each new computable member. Families in situations of special vulnerability may be beneficiaries even if they do not meet some requirements, following an assessment by social services technical staff.

Amount and eligible concepts

The maximum amount of the grant is 125 euros per student, which will be made effective via deposit into the applicant’s bank account. If the sum of the amounts exceeds the available credit, a proportional distribution will be carried out among all granted applications.

Eligible expenses include:

• Didactic and school materials: textbooks (except those already subsidized or on loan), dictionaries, notebooks, pens, and small academic materials
• Extracurricular activities
• Sports clothing and musical instruments, which may not exceed 75% of the grant amount

Deadline and procedure

Applications shall be submitted to the General Registry of the City Council, via the electronic headquarters, or by any of the means provided for in Article 16 of Law 39/2015, within a period of ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the BOP. The documentation includes the application and responsible declaration, the family book, the IRPF (Income Tax) data for the 2025 fiscal year, and certificates proving that tax and Social Security obligations are up to date.

The processing is the responsibility of the municipal social worker, the evaluation belongs to the Evaluation Commission, and the granting to the Local Government Board. Applications are scored based on the number of members of the family unit, family conditions (single-parent households, disability, unemployment, or large families), and income, being awarded in strict order of score until the allocation is exhausted.

The call represents direct support for families in Dodro with school-age children, in a context of rising costs for the start of the school year. With this line of subsidies, the City Council seeks to ensure that economic conditions do not hinder access to education and complementary activities for the students of the municipality.
