Diputación y Junta financian con 375.000 euros obras en colegios rurales

The Provincial Council of Soria has approved the Action Plan for Early Childhood and Primary Education Schools in rural areas for the 2026-2027 period, endowed with 375,000 euros and destined for works in 19 municipalities of the province. The agreement was adopted by the Governing Board in an ordinary session held on November 3, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 127, of November 6, 2026, page 3945, with the official reference BOPSO-127-06112026. The plan is part of the agreement for the repair, conservation, and improvement of Early Childhood and Primary Education schools in rural areas signed with the Regional Government of Castilla y León.

The announcement, issued by the Local Cooperation Service of the provincial institution, details the budget and the distribution of funding among the three involved administrations for each action. The document is signed in Soria on November 3, 2026, by the 1st Vice President, Mª José Jiménez Las Heras.

Nineteen municipalities, from Ágreda to Villar del Río

The plan distributes the works across the provincial geography, with amounts ranging from 9,571.37 euros for Tardelcuende to 43,000 euros for Ólvega. The complete list of municipalities and approved budgets is as follows:

  • Ágreda: 17,000 euros for repair and maintenance in the Preschool and Primary schools.
  • Almajano: 10,000 euros for repairs in the school.
  • Almarza: 14,000 euros for repair, conservation, and improvement works.
  • Almazán: 20,000 euros for works at the CEIP Diego Lainez I.
  • Arcos de Jalón: 23,000 euros to install climate control in the public school.
  • Burgo de Osma: 23,500 euros for repairs at the CEIP Manuel Ruiz Zorrilla.
  • Covaleda: 10,000 euros for painting and lighting at the Manuela Peña school.
  • Duruelo de la Sierra: 33,000 euros for a high-temperature aerothermal system.
  • Golmayo: 20,000 euros for repairs and improvements at the CEIP Gerardo Diego.
  • Langa de Duero: 20,016.63 euros for the CEIP La Ribera.
  • Medinaceli: 21,000 euros for the dining room, gym, and courtyard of the San Juan Bautista school.
  • Monteagudo de las Vicarías: 14,762 euros for the renovation of the Preschool school.
  • Ólvega: 43,000 euros to expand the teachers’ lounge at the CEIP Virgen de Olmacedo.
  • San Esteban de Gormáz: 23,150 euros for climate control, repair, and maintenance at the CEIP Virgen del Rivero.
  • San Leonardo de Yagüe: 29,000 euros for energy improvement at the CEIP Mª Eugenia Martínez del Campo.
  • San Pedro Manrique: 18,000 euros to adapt the courtyard of the CEIP Tierras Altas.
  • Serón de Nágima: 12,000 euros to eliminate dampness in the public school.
  • Tardelcuende: 9,571.37 euros for the conservation and improvement of the school center.
  • Villar del Río: 14,000 euros for the conservation and improvement of the school building.

Climate Control, Energy Efficiency, and Courtyards

Beyond ordinary maintenance, several actions address specific problems of comfort and efficiency in school buildings. Arcos de Jalón and San Esteban de Gormáz include climate control installations, while Duruelo de la Sierra opts for high-temperature aerothermal energy and San Leonardo de Yagüe for the energy improvement of the building.

Other allocations focus on coexistence spaces and services: Medinaceli will adapt the dining room, gym, and courtyard, San Pedro Manrique will condition its courtyard, and Ólvega will expand the teachers’ lounge. Interventions regarding dampness in Serón de Nágima, painting and lighting in Covaleda, and repairs in the CEIPs of Almazán, Burgo de Osma, and Golmayo are also listed.

Tripartite Financing

The cost is divided into three equal percentage tiers: the Regional Government of Castilla y León contributes 40% of the budget (150,000 euros), the Provincial Council of Soria another 40% (150,000 euros), and the town councils the remaining 20% (75,000 euros). The published table reflects this same proportion for each of the 19 municipalities, meaning the municipal contribution ranges from 1,914.27 euros for Tardelcuende to 8,600 euros for Ólvega.

The formula allows rural town councils to undertake larger-scale works with limited budgetary effort, as 80% of the cost is covered by the regional and provincial administrations.

Impact for rural families

The plan reaches schools that, in many of these municipalities, are the only reference educational infrastructure and serve children from several grouped villages. The list includes centers with established names in the province, from CEIP Diego Lainez I in Almazán to CEIP Tierras Altas in San Pedro Manrique, which demonstrates the territorial extent of the actions. With 375,000 euros committed and 19 beneficiary municipalities, the investment seeks to maintain school buildings in good condition and halt the deterioration of facilities that affect the daily lives of families residing in the rural areas of Soria.
