Provincial Council designates the evaluation committees for 27 IEG scholarships

The Provincial Council of Jaén has appointed the members of the evaluation committees for the 27 internship training grants in the documentary services of the Institute of Giennense Studies (IEG), through Resolution number 287, dated August 20, 2026, signed by the President of the Corporation, Juan Latorre Ruiz. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, number 164, dated August 25, 2026, on pages 12973 to 12975.

The call for these grants was approved by Resolution number 130, dated April 24, 2026, with file PLS 2026/33, under a competitive bidding process in accordance with article 22.1 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and article 41 of the Execution Bases of the provincial Budget. The grants are divided into two categories: 9 positions for Library Technician and 18 positions for Library Assistant.

Composition of the committees

According to the thirteenth base of the call, each committee is composed of a president, two members, and a secretary, all of whom are career civil servants appointed by the Presidency. For the Library Technician category, the following have been appointed:

• President: titular Salvador Contreras Gila; substitute Gema Cobo Hervás.
• Members: titulars María José Sánchez Cano and Rocío Begara Cevidanes; substitutes Francisco Javier Fernández Benítez and Emilio Barra Aguilar.
• Secretary: titular Ana Real Duro; substitute Cristina M.ª Erena Ibáñez.

For the Library Assistant category, the committee is composed of:

• President: titular Salvador Contreras Gila; substitute Gema Cobo Hervás.
• Members: titulars Nuria Entrambasaguas Jiménez and Rocío Begara Cevidanes; substitutes Sonia Romero Labrador and Inmaculada Olmo Arriaza.
• Secretary: titular Ana Real Duro; substitute Mercedes de la Paz Muela Martínez.

Constitution and calendar

Both committees will be constituted on September 21, 2026, in the IEG Boardroom: the Library Technician committee at 09:30 hours and the Library Assistant committee at 12:30 hours. During that session, the date of the practical test will be set, which will be announced on the Electronic Office (Notice Board) and on the Corporation’s website.

The committees will be governed by the operating rules of Chapter II of the Preliminary Title of Law 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector. Pursuant to article 24, interested parties may request the recusal of its members at any time during the process.

Appeals

This resolution exhausts the administrative route. Interested parties may optionally file a request for reversal (recurso de reposición) within one month before the Presidency, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Court of the province of Jaén, provided that both are not filed simultaneously.

The publication of these commissions is key for the candidates, as it establishes the constitution calendar and the date of the practical test, and guarantees the transparency of the selection process for the 27 training grants in documentary services at the IEG.
