Toledo Provincial Council approves Educational Hiking and school transport grants

The Governing Board of the Provincial Council of Toledo approved on September 11, 2026, the Educational Program “Didactic Hiking” and the call for grants to cover the transport costs of participating educational centers during the 2026-2027 school year. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 177, dated September 16, 2026, with insertion number I-4176 and identification BDNS 929287. The program is aimed at 5th and 6th grade Primary Education students from educational centers within the province.
The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database (call 929287). The agreement bears the signature of the president, María Concepción Cedillo Tardío, and exhausts the administrative route.
Beneficiaries may be educational centers in the province of Toledo that participate in the program and meet the requirements of the guidelines, available at the Agriculture, Environment, and Rural World Service of the Council and on the website diputoledo.es.
Objectives: learning in the natural environment
The program aims for students to carry out activities in the natural environment in a creative and responsible manner. Specific objectives include:
- Understanding the value of the natural environment and the importance of contributing to its protection and improvement.
- Acquiring skill in the use of specific objects for progression in the natural environment: clothing, appropriate footwear, compass, or identification guides.
- Improving overall physical condition through walks in the natural environment.
- Appreciating the heritage richness and the recreational possibilities of the surroundings.
- Promoting knowledge of the flora, fauna, and landscapes of the province of Toledo.
- Developing the ability to research, enjoy, and discover nature through direct contact with it.
- Awakening critical, active, cooperative, and supportive attitudes toward problems affecting the environment.
- Providing knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values of respect toward the most immediate natural environment.
Amount and financing
The maximum amount for the granting of subsidies is 4,000.00 euros, charged to the budget application 2027/1720/48933 “Cooperation agreements and other collaborations”. Each educational center may submit a single application, which may only encompass the expenses provided for in the fourth clause.
Deadlines and submission of applications
- The application to participate in the program is formalized via an online form on the Provincial Council’s website, and the deadline remains open until all offered days are filled.
- The transport grant is requested via a formal application addressed to the president of the Provincial Council (Annex I) and can be submitted until April 29, 2027.
- The justification must be submitted by July 15, 2027.
- Submission is electronic, through the Provincial Council’s electronic office, ORVE, or any other electronic registry provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015.
Applications submitted after the deadline or by means other than those indicated will not be admitted for processing.
Appeals
Against the agreement, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the same body within one month from the day following its publication. If not used, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Courts of Toledo within two months.
The call provides schools in the province with a way to finance transport for their field trips, with a budget of 4,000 euros intended to cover the travel of 5th and 6th grade Primary groups throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.
