Toledo Provincial Council opens 100,000 euros for school-related work-life balance and family respite

Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Council of Toledo has approved the call for grants for the Second Harmonization and Family Respite, endowed with 100,000 euros, intended to finance personnel expenses derived from the hiring of workers who receive, attend to, and care for students outside of school hours. The measure, approved by Agreement of the Governing Board on August 28, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 166, dated September 1, 2026, and is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 926953.

The program is aimed at Local Entities in the province whose educational centers do not have morning, dining, and afternoon services managed by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, and which have not been beneficiaries of the resolution of the previous program, published in the BOP on July 28. The purpose is to support families in reconciling family and work life, ensure the well-being of children, support vulnerable families, and promote inclusion through the financing of qualified personnel.

Purpose and amounts of the aid

The grant is awarded through a direct award system and is intended for the reception, care, and attention of students outside of school hours and on school days, during the 2026-2027 academic year, in Early Childhood and Primary Education Centers (C.E.I.P.), Grouped Rural Centers (C.R.A.), and Special Education Centers (C.E.E.). The maximum amounts per center are:

  • €6,310 for the hiring of one worker in charge of the students in each C.E.I.P. or C.R.A., with 12.5 weekly hours.
  • €12,620 for the hiring of two workers in each C.E.E., with 12.5 weekly hours each, due to the specific characteristics of these students.

Local Entities may hire through the new recruitment of a worker, the extension of an existing contract, or external management of the service, respecting in all cases the limits provided in the guidelines.

Budgetary credit and application deadline

The call is financed through two budgetary applications: 28,571 euros charged to application 2026.2310.462.00 and 71,429 euros charged to 2027.2310.462.00, with the approval of future expenditure conditional upon the entry into force of the 2027 budget and the existence of an adequate allocation.

The deadline for submitting applications is ten days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP. Applications shall be formalized via a request addressed to the President of the Provincial Council, electronically signed, and may be submitted:

  • Through the Electronic Office (Sede Electrónica) of the Provincial Council of Toledo.
  • Through the ORVE.
  • Through any other electronic registry provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure.

The deadline for submitting the justification ends on September 30, 2027. The full guidelines are available at the Social Welfare, Family and Youth Service of the Provincial Council and on its website.

Relevance for the municipalities

The call, signed by the President of the Provincial Council, María Concepción Cedillo Tardío, represents a key reinforcement for the small municipalities of the province, where the absence of reconciliation services managed by the regional administration leaves many families without alternatives for childcare outside of school hours. With this second edition of the program, the Provincial Council consolidates a line of support that combines work-family balance with care for the most vulnerable families and educational inclusion in rural areas.
