Jaén Provincial Council resolves payment of agricultural and environmental subsidies

The Provincial Council of Jaén activates the payment of dozens of subsidies to local entities

The Provincial Council of Jaén has published Resolution No. 330, of August 12, 2026, issued by the Deputy Delegate of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Environment and Climate Change, Isabel Uceda Cantero, by which the obligation of advance payment to the beneficiaries of the call for subsidies in this area for the 2026 fiscal year is recognized. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, No. 159, corresponding to Tuesday, August 18, 2026, on page 12754.

The subsidies fall within the framework of the call approved by Resolution of the Deputy Delegate No. 517, of November 26, 2025, and are processed on an advance basis, that is, the funds are transferred to the beneficiaries prior to the justification of the expenditure and without the need to provide a guarantee, as established in Article 19 of the call.

Line 1: promotion of agri-food products

The first line of subsidies is aimed at promoting agri-food products of the province and includes 23 projects with individual amounts ranging between 713 euros and 1,198 euros, applying the budget item 2026.011.4140.48905. Among the funded initiatives, notable ones include promotions of olive groves and extra virgin olive oil, transhumant Segureño lamb, beekeeping, cherry trees, gastronomic roots and ovine genetic heritage. Some of the projects and their beneficiaries are:

  • Promotion of Degusta Jaén products at the 8th olive grove short story awardMasquecuentos Cultural Association: 800 euros.
  • 12th Andalusian competition for young chefsAndalusian Federation of Wine and Gastronomy Brotherhoods (Fecoan): 1,198 euros.
  • Agricultural and livestock conferencesF.A.M.P.A. Los Olivos: 1,108.15 euros.

Line 2: environmental awareness

The second line groups more than 60 environmental education and awareness projects, with a separate budget allocation (2026.012.1720.48902) and individual amounts ranging from €655.20 to €1,973.40. Many of the initiatives are promoted by parent-teacher associations (AMPAs) of schools and secondary schools across the province, as well as by youth, cultural and environmental associations. Among the most notable projects by amount:

  • Eco-heroes and eco-inventors: creativity and action to reduce wasteAMPA Frajana of the Nueva Andalucía Public School: €1,973.40 (the largest amount in the entire resolution).
  • Occupational therapy and biodiversity, getting to know our environmentManos Inteligentes Association: €1,736.
  • Youth in action: creation and interpretationAMPA Acebeas of IES Gandhi: €1,722.60.
  • Rural youth, environmental participation and social theatreSiempreviva Rural Association: €1,797.
  • Environmental Education Programme: for a healthy environment and a sustainable worldFederation of Neighbourhood, Consumer and User Associations of Andújar Alcazaba: €1,707.15.
  • Workshops for participatory actionF.A.M.P.A. Los Olivos: €1,707.15.
  • 4th Provincial Conference on Environmental Education and OutreachZuma Youth Ecological Association: €1,647.25.
  • Community environmental education for caring for the environmentLa Comunitaria Association: €1,647.25.
  • Astrophotography exhibition in the astronomical corridor of JaénD.R. Comarca Sierra Sur Association: €1,617.30.
  • Lynx ecological vehicleLince Eco-Jándula Association: €1,437.60.

The vast majority of the AMPAs receiving funding under this line receive a standard amount of €1,587.35 per project, which affects around 30 educational entities in municipalities such as Linares, Baeza, Andújar, Jódar, Torredelcampo, Linares, Los Villares and Alcaudete, among others.

Provincial scope and diversity of beneficiaries

The resolution covers beneficiaries from practically the whole of the province of Jaén: from municipalities in the north such as Cambil, Albanchez de Mágina and Torres, to towns in the countryside such as Andújar and Villa del Río, as well as the capital and the Sierra Sur region. The beneficiary entities range from small neighbourhood associations to regional federations, as well as agri-food cooperatives, associations of people with disabilities and cultural groups.

The advance payment represents a direct economic injection for the entities, which will be able to carry out their projects without having to finance them in advance from their own funds. The resolution, dated in Jaén on 14 August 2026, also orders its publication in the Official Provincial Bulletin (BOP) and on the Provincial Council website for general information.
