Castellón Provincial Council approves works for nearly one million on the Ulldecona bridge

The Provincial Council approves the action by Presidential Decree

The Provincial Council of Castellón has given the green light to one of the most significant road infrastructure projects in the Maestrat region by approving the widening of the deck and the replacement of the parapets of the bridge over the Ulldecona reservoir, located on the CV-105 road. The approval is formalised through Presidential Decree No. 2026-1831, dated 27 May 2026, which frames the action within the rehabilitation and improvement works planned for the 2026 financial year.

The corresponding notice appears published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón, number 99, of 18 August 2026, in the Local Administration section, under reference 167601 and file number 2928/2026 (registration 03730-2026-U). Its publication opens a period of thirty working days for the submission of objections and claims, after which the initial approval will be automatically raised to final if no objections are lodged.

A budget of nearly one million euros

The project, drafted by the Roads Service of the Provincial Council of Castellón and supervised by the technical services of the same institution, has a total budget of €999,922.67, including VAT. The figure covers both the widening of the structure’s deck and the replacement of the existing parapets, essential elements for the safety of road users.

Objection period open following publication

Once the notice is published in the Official Gazette of Castellón of 18 August 2026, the countdown of thirty working days begins, during which any interested party may submit objections or claims. If none are lodged within that period, the initial approval will be automatically raised to final, which would allow progress towards the tendering and awarding of the works.

The bridge over the Ulldecona reservoir constitutes a first-rate road infrastructure for the Maestrat region and for the municipalities that depend on the CV-105 road as a means of communication.
