Provincial Council of Córdoba approves subsidies for culture and cinema

The Provincial Council of Córdoba has made final the Agreement No. 153/26, which modifies the provincial budget to incorporate 322,000 euros earmarked for subsidies for cultural projects and open-air film screenings during the summer. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba of August 18, 2026, in the Local Administration section, under reference BOP-A-2026-2890.

Institutional framework and final approval

The agreement, dated in Córdoba on August 13, 2026, was signed by the Delegate for Finance, Economy and Employment, Blanca Torrent Cruz, and the General Secretary of the Plenary, María del Carmen Parra Fontalva. It is issued under the Delegation Decree No. 8377, of June 17, 2023, and complies with the provisions of Article 169 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5.

The amendment affects Rule 50 of Budget Execution, in the table corresponding to the Culture section, and involves the creation of funding lines through transfers to companies and self-employed workers to promote cultural activity in the province.

The regulation was subject to a public exhibition period between July 17 and August 7, 2026, in accordance with Articles 169, 170 and 171 of RDL 2/2004. Once that period had elapsed without any claims being submitted, the Provincial Council proceeded to make the agreement final and publish it officially.

222,000 euros for cultural projects

The budget includes an allocation of 222,000 euros for the annual public call program for cultural projects, aimed at companies and self-employed workers in the sector. This line, identified with budget code 3340/47900, aims to finance cultural initiatives through a competitive bidding system.

100,000 euros for open-air cinema in summer

Alongside the general project line, two additional allocations are made available specifically for organizing open-air film screenings during the summer season:

• 90,000 euros (budget code 3340/47900) for projects open to companies, self-employed workers and non-profit entities.
• 10,000 euros (budget code 3340/48910) exclusively for non-profit entities.

Both lines are likewise governed by the competitive bidding system and are framed within the Provincial Council’s Culture program.

Beneficiaries and procedure

The grants are aimed at cultural companies, self-employed workers and associations throughout the province of Córdoba. Recipients may apply for these subsidies through a public call, under a competitive bidding system, in accordance with the procedure established in the definitively approved budget amendment.

With this measure, the Provincial Council of Córdoba reinforces its support for the provincial cultural fabric, both in the production of artistic projects and in the offering of cinematic leisure during the summer. The 322,000 euros allocated to these lines represent a direct incentive for the cultural and economic revitalization of the Córdoba territory.
