Provincial Council announces 50,000 euros for organic school gardens

The Provincial Council of Toledo has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo (number 176, of September 15, 2026) the summary of the regulatory bases and the call for grants for the creation and maintenance of organic school gardens during the 2026/2027 school year. The call, approved by agreement of the Governing Board on September 11, 2026, has a maximum allocation of 50,000 euros and is identified in the National Grants Database with the code BDNS 929044.

The summary is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Grants Law, and its full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database. The call is financed through budget application 2027/1720/48933 (Cooperation agreements and other collaborations).

Beneficiaries and objective

Educational centers for Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Grouped Rural Centers (CRA), Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, and Special Education, both public and subsidized, that are members of the Network of Organic School Gardens of the province of Toledo on the date of publication of the call, may apply. Early childhood schools for children aged 0 to 3 are excluded.

The purpose is to promote the creation and maintenance of these spaces as an outdoor pedagogical resource, where students and teachers can work on content and attitudes that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, within the framework of the 2030 Agenda promoted by the United Nations.

Amount and conditions

In general, a maximum individualized grant of 500 euros per entity is established. In the case of Grouped Rural Schools (CRA), the maximum amount will apply to each section for which the grant has been requested.

• Maximum amount of the call: 50,000 euros.
• Grant per center: 500 euros (per section in the case of CRAs).
• Application submission period: thirty calendar days from the day following the publication of the summary in the gazette.
• Justification deadline: until July 15, 2027.

Submission of applications

Applications shall be formalized by means of a request addressed to the Hon. President of the Provincial Council (Annex I) and must be submitted by electronic means, in accordance with article 14.2 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure:

• Through the electronic office of the Provincial Council of Toledo, in the General Purpose Request section.
• Through ORVE.
• Through any other electronic registry provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015.

Applications submitted after the deadline or by means other than those specified will not be accepted for processing. Relevance for readers

The call represents a direct opportunity for public and semi-private (concertados) schools in the province affiliated with the Network of Ecological School Gardens, which may finance the creation or maintenance of their cultivation spaces as an educational tool. The agreement, signed by president María Concepción Cedillo Tardío, exhausts the administrative route, and an appeal for reversal may be filed against it within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Courts of Toledo within two months.
