Provincial Council opens 100,000 euro call for applications for agricultural cooperatives

The Provincial Council of Guadalajara has opened the call for grants aimed at agri-food and agricultural cooperatives in the province for the 2026 financial year, with a total credit of 100,000 euros and a maximum of 40,000 euros per beneficiary. The call was approved by agreement of the Governing Board on August 18, 2026, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 161, dated August 24, 2026 (BDNS identifier 925812).

The aid is part of the Strategic Grant Plan 2026-2028, approved by the Plenary of the Council in the session of February 20, 2026, and contributes to the strategic objective of stimulating rural and economic development. Beneficiaries and requirements

Active agri-food and agricultural cooperative societies with a registered office in the province of Guadalajara and registered in the Register of Cooperatives of Castilla-La Mancha may apply for the grants, provided they are not listed as named beneficiaries in the 2026 provincial budgets. They must meet, among others, the following requirements:

• Not be subject to the prohibitions of Article 13 of Law 38/2003, General Law on Grants.
• Be up to date with their obligations to the Council, the Tax Agency, and Social Security.
• Not be debtors as a result of a reimbursement procedure resolution.

Submission and amount

Applications shall be submitted electronically via the Council’s Electronic Office within 15 business days from the day following the publication of the summary in the gazette. The amount of each grant will be determined by prorating the credit among the applicants who meet the requirements, based on the number of active members on the date of publication, with a maximum of 40,000 euros and up to 100% of the subsidized action.

The required documentation includes the certificate of registration in the Register of Cooperatives, the bylaws, the tax identification document, certificates of being up to date with the Treasury and Social Security, proof of legal representation, and the third-party form.

Eligible expenses and deadlines

Current expenses incurred between January 1 and November 30, 2026, will be eligible for subsidies, provided they have been paid before the end of the justification period. These include:

• Cooperative personnel expenses, proven by payrolls and social security payments.
• Costs of materials, supplies, maintenance, and websites.
• Expenses for attending trade fairs, product presentations, and publications.

Recoverable VAT, debit interest, penalties, and legal proceeding expenses shall not be eligible for subsidies. The justification account must be submitted within two months from the completion of the activity and, in any case, before January 30, 2027. The maximum period for resolution may not exceed six months from the publication of the summary.

The call, signed by the president of the Provincial Council, Mr. José Luis Vega Pérez, represents a direct boost to the agri-food cooperative fabric of the province, which is key to maintaining economic activity and employment in the rural areas of Guadalajara.
