Provincial Council awards the expansion of the CEE Alba de Reus and puts the Savinosa out to tender

The Governing Board of the Provincial Council of Tarragona awarded, in the session of September 15, 2026, the works contract for the executive project for the expansion of the Alba Special Education Center (CEE) of Reus, and approved the tender file for the partial repair of the facades of the former Savinosa pretrial detention center, with a base budget of 97,470.75 euros (VAT included). The agreements are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona (BOPT) on September 28, 2026, under reference CVE 2026-08622 (pp. 1-3).

The extracts of the agreements of the Governing Board of the Provincial Council of Tarragona from the session of September 15, 2026, were published in the BOPT on September 28, 2026, signed by the general secretary, Josep Maria Sabaté Vidal. The document contains 25 government agreements including contract awards, tenders, subsidies, and investment projects in the district.

Special education: award in Reus

Agreement number 20 of the session awards the contract, via open procedure, for the works of the executive project for the “expansion of the Alba Special Education Center (CEE) of Reus”. The published extract does not detail the award amount or the winning company.

The Provincial Council of Tarragona maintains active contracts for its special education centers, as shown by other agreements published in the same gazette:

• Award of the assisted dog therapy service for students of the Special Education Centers of the Provincial Council of Tarragona, academic years 2026-2027 and 2027-2028, in 3 lots (session of September 8, 2026, CVE 2026-08474).
• Return of the final guarantee for the transport service contract for educational, complementary, and extracurricular activities for students of these centers, academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, lot 1 (session of September 22, 2026, CVE 2026-08862).

Heritage: la Savinosa and el Vendrell

Agreement number 24 approves the procurement file, via simplified open procedure, for the execution of the works of the Project for the partial repair of the facades of the admission pavilion and the dining halls of the former Savinosa pretrial detention center, facing the new ring road.

• Base tender budget: 97,470.75 euros (VAT included).
• Procedure: simplified open.
• Object: partial repair of the facades of the admission pavilion and the dining halls.

In the same heritage area, agreement number 25 initially approves the Project for improving accessibility of the Provincial Council’s premises in Baix Penedès, at the Former Popular Library of El Vendrell.

Other investments and agreements of the session

The session also included other decisions of regional scope:

• Collaboration agreement with the Department of Education and Vocational Training of the Generalitat de Catalunya for the participation of Artistic Baccalaureate students from the Institut Dertosa in training, educational, and cultural mediation activities.
• Approval of the Rural-FIB IV Project, with an execution budget per contract of 2,306,687.50 euros.
• Approval of the Rural-FIB II Project, with an execution budget per contract of 3,494,686.65 euros.
• Awarding of the contract for the diagnosis service of the state of the sewage network, lots 1 and 2.
• Approval of the minutes prior to the occupation of estates affected by the improvement of the T-203 road, from the TP-2031 to the Riera de Gaià via El Catllar.
• Inadmissibility of the appeal for reversal filed by the owners of estate number 60 of the land division for the improvement project of the TV-3421 road from La Sénia to Roquetes.

The decisions of the Governing Board combine educational and heritage investment: the expansion of the CEE Alba de Reus reinforces special education facilities in the city, while the tender for the facades of the former preventive center of La Savinosa advances the recovery of a historical complex linked to the new ring road.
