Diez aspirantes de enfermería decaen y Salud reabre la elección de plaza

The Ministry of Health of the Government of Cantabria has declared the forfeiture of the right to appointment for ten candidates for Nurse of Health Institutions who did not take possession of the assigned position and has excluded five others from the selection process. The decision is detailed in the resolution signed on November 1, 2026, by the Minister César Pascual Fernández, published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (Boletín Oficial de Cantabria) no. 213, of November 5, 2026 (reference CVE-2026-8647). The same document publishes a new list of successful candidates and reopens the period for candidates awaiting assignment to choose a position.

The process stems from the temporary employment stabilization call approved by Order SAN/71/2022, of December 29 (published in the BOC on January 17, 2023), via a competitive examination process (concurso-oposición). Following the final results of the Qualifying Tribunal on February 28, 2025, and the appointment and assignment of positions on August 26, 2025, the Management Directorate of the Cantabrian Health Service reported the failure to meet the deadlines for taking possession and submitting documentation. The resolution invokes article 61.8 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, and bases 7.3, 8, and 9 of the call to ensure the coverage of all positions according to the order of precedence.

Ten forfeitures for failure to take possession

Annex IA lists the individuals who lose the rights derived from their participation in the process for not having taken possession within the established period:

  • Paula Bustamante Meneses
  • Montserrat De Las Heras Plaza
  • Laura Díaz Hernández
  • Raquel Dosal González
  • Sara Fernández Álvarez
  • Andrea Fernández Gómez
  • Javier Guerra Guardo
  • Raquel Pacheco Bada
  • Andrea Saura Mellado
  • María Jesús Vegas Aguilar

Added to them are sixteen other candidates from the first complementary list who did not submit documentation or a request for a position, listed in Annex IB, whose actions are annulled in accordance with base 8 of the call.

Five exclusions due to permanent positions in the extraordinary competition

Annex II declares the exclusion of Yaiza Arce Diego, Elena Ceballos Vallina, Pedro Luis De Vega Martínez, Pablo Vázquez Valencia, and Marta Amelia Viscarolasaga Sustacha. The reason is having obtained the status of permanent statutory personnel in the same category called in the Cantabrian Health Service through the extraordinary competition of Order SAN/137/2022, whose appointments were published in the BOC on October 13, 2026. The exclusion is supported by sections 2.1.g) and 2.3 of the second base of the call.

New list of successful candidates and 71 positions to be chosen

Annex III contains the new list of candidates who have passed the selection tests, with 127 people ordered by score, topped by Susana Achurra Guerra with 87.400 points. The certification of the Qualifying Board is dated October 29, 2026, and replaces the lists published in the resolutions of February 28 and August 26, 2025, which are hereby void. The list incorporates Jon Cámara Cruz with a right to a position and modifies the order of precedence for Alejandra Ortega Amo.

The positions offered in Annex IV are:

  • 69 positions from the Specialized Care Management Area I: Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, in Santander.
  • 2 positions from the Specialized Care Management Areas III and IV: Sierrallana Regional Hospital, in Torrelavega.

Candidates with precedence 58 to 102 have twenty calendar days from the day following publication to submit, electronically via the ORION application, the position request form indicating their order of preference. Those who do not submit it will maintain the request already formulated in 2025, and candidates with precedence 103 to 127, along with Jon Cámara Cruz and Alejandra Ortega Amo, must provide the documentation required in clause 8.2 within the same period.

The resolution exhausts the administrative route, except for an optional appeal for reversal before the Health Counselor within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Cantabria within two months. For the candidates still awaiting assignment, the document reopens the choice among 71 positions and clarifies the order of precedence after two years of appeals.
