Call for Foral Police inspector positions remains vacant

The General Directorate of the Interior of the Government of Navarra has declared void the call for the provision, through a specific competition, of positions for the role of inspector of the Policía Foral de Navarra, as no applications were submitted within the deadline. This is established by Resolution 6504E/2026, dated August 14, signed by the Director General of the Interior, Salvador Díez Zapata, and published in the Official Gazette of Navarra number 164, dated August 20, 2026.
The call that is now declared void was approved by Resolution 5930E/2026, dated July 1, from the same body, and published in the Official Gazette of Navarra number 141, dated July 21, 2026. It opened a submission period of 15 calendar days, which concluded without any application being registered, leading the Administration to apply base 6.3 of the call itself.
A call without applicants
The specific competition was called to fill positions for the role of inspector of the Policía Foral de Navarra, a body attached to the headquarters of the Policía Foral. After the submission period ended and it was verified that no applications had been received, the General Directorate of the Interior proceeded to issue the resolution declaring the process void.
The decision is adopted in exercise of the powers assigned to the Director General of the Interior by Foral Decree 30/2005, dated February 21, which delimits the personnel powers of the various bodies of the Administration of the Foral Community of Navarra and its autonomous bodies.
The 16 vacancies move to the transfer competition
As a consequence of the declaration of void, the 16 vacancies that made up the call are declared as remaining for the transfer competition, all of them attached to the headquarters of the Policía Foral. The numbers of the affected vacancies are:
- 5199, 5201, 5204, 5621, 5622, 5623 and 5625
- 5940, 5942, 7752, 7995 and 7996
- 8163, 10205, 10206 and 10600
Transfer and publication
The resolution orders that it be forwarded to the bodies involved in the management of the process, including the Personnel Management Service of the General Directorate of Public Function, the Public Information and Registry Office, the Interior Human Resources Service, and the designated members of the Tribunal. Likewise, its publication in the Official Gazette of Navarra is ordered for the appropriate purposes.
The declaration of a void result evidences the staffing difficulties facing the Navarra Foral Police within its command scale, as no one applied for a specific competition intended to fill inspector positions. With the 16 vacancies reintroduced into the transfer competition circuit, the Foral Administration must rethink its recruitment strategy to ensure the coverage of these posts in a body key to the public security of the Foral Community.
