A protected housing unit on Somosancho Street in Salamanca has been disqualified

The Territorial Service of Mobility and Digital Transformation of Salamanca, under the Ministry of the Presidency of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, has agreed to the voluntary disqualification of a subsidized housing unit (VPO) located at Somosancho St. no. 9-15, 1st floor, letter B, in the city of Salamanca. The decision was adopted via Resolution of June 30, 2026, at the request of the owners, and has been made public through an announcement in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 161, dated August 20, 2026.

The disqualification was processed under file VPO-37-1-0042/95, the same file that supported the definitive qualification of the property as Subsidized Housing, granted on November 24, 1997. With this resolution, the property ceases to be subject to the public protection regime and the limitations on transfer and price that it entails.

Request from the owners

The disqualification occurs at the express request of the property owners, who requested the voluntary exit from the official protection regime:

• Mr. Manuel Martín Hidalgo, co-owner of the property.
• Ms. María Montserrat Blanco Marcos, co-owner of the property.

The announcement, signed in Salamanca on July 6, 2026, by the Head of the Territorial Service, Raúl San Segundo Romo, is published for the general knowledge of interested parties and the public.

Effects of the disqualification

The voluntary disqualification of a protected home implies its exit from the VPO regime, meaning the property is freed from the restrictions typical of this type of real estate, such as sale price limits or the requirement of habitual residence. Following the resolution, the owners may freely dispose of the property on the open market.
