Denmark bars British national for two years with Schengen alert
Por FactBox Admin

Urutajirinere Fombo, a British national, has been entered on Denmark’s national sanctions list with a two-year entry ban and a parallel registration as an unwanted person in the Schengen Information System (SIS). Both measures take effect on Tuesday 3 November 2026. The decision is published in Statstidende of 3 November 2026, in section I under the heading “Forskellige kundgørelser · National sanktionsliste”, under official reference S26102026-269.
The entry belongs to a recurring series of short statutory notices through which Denmark publishes additions to the national sanctions list. Each notice discloses only the personal data the authority holds and the measure imposed; the underlying grounds are not made public. Enquiries are directed to the Danish Immigration Service (Udlændingestyrelsen).
Fombo’s case is a renewal rather than a first listing. An earlier notice, S29102024-193, recorded the original listing on 4 November 2024. A follow-up notice carried in the gazette of 3 September 2026, S01092026-74, recorded that the person had been registered as unwanted in SIS from 31 August 2026 until 3 November 2026 — the same day on which the new ban and the new alert begin.
What the notice records
- Name: Urutajirinere Fombo
- Alias: none recorded (“ingen oplysninger”)
- Nationality: United Kingdom
- Country of residence: United Kingdom
- Measure: entry ban in Denmark valid for two years, plus registration as unwanted in SIS
- In force from: Tuesday 3 November 2026
The notice states that the entry ban and the SIS registration are both effective from that date. It does not publish a separate expiry date for either element.
Why the Schengen registration matters
The SIS registration is the operative element for border officers across the passport-free area: a check in any participating state would surface the Danish decision, so the practical reach of the notice extends well beyond Danish territory.
The gazette’s parallel notices show how tightly the two elements are usually aligned. In entries of 3 September 2026, Yasin Gündoğdu, a Turkish national listed on 13 March 2026 by notice S06032026-163, was registered in SIS from 31 August 2026 until 12 March 2028, and Ihsan Senocak, listed on 20 December 2024 by notice S17122024-205, until 19 December 2026 — each window matching a two-year measure. A further notice of 29 August 2026, S27082026-177, recorded additional personal data for Mohamad Baajour, a US national listed on 14 August 2026, with an alert running to 13 August 2028.
Reconsideration route
The text states that further information, “including on the possibility of reopening” (genoptagelse), can be obtained from Udlændingestyrelsen, and refers readers to www.nyidanmark.dk. No deadline for such a request and no case number beyond the gazette reference are given in the notice.
What it means
For the individual concerned, the consequence is a two-year bar on entering Denmark combined with a Schengen-wide flag that will surface at external borders and in visa and residence checks. For operators tracking Danish immigration measures, the notice is also a reminder that listings are periodically re-published rather than left to lapse: the September entry expired on exactly the day this one began.
