Deltebre increases subsidies for sports competitions up to 11,000 euros

The Deltebre City Council has approved the modification of the call for grants for participation in sports competitions for the 2026 financial year, with an allocation of 11,000.00 euros, expandable according to the applications submitted. The agreement was made by the Local Governing Board in the session of October 28, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona (BOPT) on November 4, 2026, section I, pp. 1-7, with the official reference CVE 2026-10198. Competitive bidding and beneficiaries

The call is resolved under a competitive bidding regime, with the allocation prorated among the requesting entities if applicable. Non-profit sports entities and associations participating in international, state, and Catalan national competitions may apply, with the aim of incentivizing municipal sports and boosting the trajectory of the municipality’s athletes.

The requirements demanded of the entities are as follows:

• To be legally constituted and active.
• To have a registered office or delegation within the municipal boundaries of Deltebre.
• To be registered in the Registry of Entities of the Municipality of Deltebre.
• To be up to date with tax, fiscal, and reimbursement obligations to the City Council, the Tax Administration, Social Security, and other administrations.
• Not to have been subject to final sanctions or convicting judgments for discriminatory practices based on sex or gender (article 11 of Law 17/2015).

Football clubs and football schools are expressly excluded as recipients. Payment will be charged to the budget application 480.00-92001 Associative Fabric.

Scoring per athlete and distance

The amount of each grant is calculated objectively based on the number of participating athletes and the distance between Deltebre and the location of the competition. The scoring per athlete is as follows:

• From 80 to 350 km: 60 points (1 to 10 athletes) and 50 points (11 to 20).
• From 351 to 800 km: 120 points (1 to 10) and 100 points (11 to 20).
• Over 800 km with stays of up to 4 days: 250 points (1 to 10) and 200 points (11 to 20).
• Over 800 km with stays of more than 4 days: 400 points (1 to 10) and 325 points (11 to 20).

To calculate the days of stay, only the competition days plus one day before and one day after are taken into account. A maximum of two annual stays per athlete and a maximum of twenty athletes per entity are eligible for subsidies. Regarding expenses, direct costs derived from the travel of athletes to participate in the competition are financed.

Deadlines, advance payment, and justification

The calendar established by the call is as follows:

• Submission of applications: from the day after publication in the BOPT until November 30, 2026, in person at the Citizen Service Space (EAC) or via the municipal electronic office.
• Correction of defects: 10 days from the day after the request; if not completed, the file will be archived within a maximum of 3 months.
• Resolution: the Local Governing Board, upon the proposal of the Deputy Mayor of the Area, with instruction handled by the staff of the DeltebreActiu Area; administrative silence is dismissive after three months.
• Justification of activity: before December 20, 2026.
• Payment: by transfer, with the option of a 90% advance payment at the time of acceptance and the remaining 10% within a maximum of 30 days.

The grants are compatible with other subsidies from public or private administrations or entities, provided that the total does not exceed the total cost of the project. Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Tarragona within two months or, optionally, a request for reversal within one month.

Validity conditional on the budget

The final provision of the call conditions its application to the approval of the corresponding budget allocations in the 2026 financial year budgets; otherwise, it will be void. Once approved by the Local Governing Board, it enters into force the day after publication in the BOPT. The announcement appears signed in Deltebre on October 30, 2026, by David Torres Fabra, acting secretary.

The measure directly affects the clubs and sports associations of the municipality that compete outside of Deltebre: with 11,000 euros (expandable) and a scale linked to kilometers and the number of athletes, entities have until November 30 to submit applications and until December 20 to justify travel expenses.
