Danish justice minister appoints two new attorneys in Copenhagen area
Por FactBox Admin

The Danish Justitsministeriet (Ministry of Justice) appointed two new attorneys on 8 October 2026, according to notices published in Statstidende on 13 October 2026. The appointments cover Kirstine Elisa Hanghøj Madsen, of Charlottenlund, and Kiki Karlijn Heesakker Johansen, of Copenhagen. Both entries appear in the gazette’s Diverse section under the heading “Afskedigelser og udnævnelser” (dismissals and appointments).
Statstidende is Denmark’s official gazette for public announcements and is published by the Civilstyrelsen (Danish Civil Affairs Agency) under the Justitsministeriet. Attorney appointments are announced there by the ministry, which formally confers the title of advokat on candidates who hold the cand.jur. law degree and satisfy the requirements of the profession. The two notices follow the gazette’s standard formula: “Justitsministeren har den 08.10.2026 beskikket nedennævnte som advokat” — the Minister of Justice has, on 8 October 2026, appointed the person named below as an attorney.
The two appointments
- Kirstine Elisa Hanghøj Madsen, cand.jur., Charlottenlund — official reference S08092026-79.
- Kiki Karlijn Heesakker Johansen, cand.jur., København — official reference S06102026-327.
Both entries carry the same appointment date, 8 October 2026, and both were carried in the same issue of the gazette. They are the only two attorney appointments published on 13 October 2026.
A steady flow of appointments
The two notices are part of a regular stream of such announcements. Between 25 August and 13 October 2026, Statstidende published 35 notices of new attorney appointments, with the largest single batch — 20 notices — appearing on 8 September 2026. The appointments are spread across the country, with the two newest holders based in the Copenhagen area.
The same section of the gazette also records changes to appointments already granted, which are published alongside the new appointments:
- 33 notices that an attorney’s appointment had been deposited with the Civilstyrelsen, meaning the holder is not currently practising.
- 11 notices that a deposited appointment had been released on request, allowing the holder to resume practice.
Why the register matters
The publication of an appointment in Statstidende is the point at which the title of advokat becomes publicly verifiable. Courts, public authorities, companies and private clients rely on the gazette’s appointment notices to confirm that a lawyer is entitled to practise, to appear in court and to be appointed to cases. The same register records when an appointment is deposited or released, so that the status of any individual attorney can be traced through the official record rather than through professional directories alone.
For the two new attorneys, the notices of 13 October 2026 mark the formal start of their standing in that register. Each appointment is tied to a specific official reference — S08092026-79 and S06102026-327 — which is the identifier used when the entry is cited or checked against the gazette.
