A Danish court has ordered public service of a writ in which SONDEX HOLDING A/S claims EUR 2,655,799.70 plus interest from Pramod Padmanabhan, whose address is unknown. The notice was published in Statstidende on 15 October 2026 under the heading “Stævninger og indkaldelser” (official reference S13102026-54), and the writ was issued by Retten i Kolding on 13 October 2026.
Statstidende is Denmark’s official gazette for legal announcements, published by Civilstyrelsen under Justitsministeriet. Announcements of this type are legally binding once published: they are the instrument through which courts and authorities reach parties whose whereabouts cannot be established by ordinary means. The entry appears in the gazette’s section for writs and summonses concerning persons and companies.
The claim and the parties
Bech-Bruun Advokatpartnerselskab, acting as counsel for SONDEX HOLDING A/S, Marsvej 5, 6000 Kolding, has brought proceedings against Pramod Padmanabhan. The claim set out in the writ is:
- Payment of the Danish-krone equivalent, calculated at the payment date, of EUR 2,655,799.70.
- Process interest (procesrente) running from 6 April 2021 until payment.
- The sum is stated to be compensation for financial loss (erstatning for økonomisk tab).
The case is registered at Retten i Kolding under case number BS-48462/2025-KOL.
Deadline and the risk of a default judgment
The court has called on the defendant to file a statement of defence (svarskrift) within four weeks, quoting case number BS-48462/2025-KOL, to Retten i Kolding, Kolding Åpark 11, 6000 Kolding. If no defence is filed, the court may enter judgment in accordance with the plaintiff’s claim. The defendant may obtain a copy of the writ and the related case documents by contacting the court.
Why the writ is served by public notice
The writ is served publicly because the defendant’s current whereabouts are unknown. Public service is the mechanism used when ordinary service cannot be carried out, and publication in Statstidende is what sets the response period running. The notice is dated Retten i Kolding, 13 October 2026, and was carried in the gazette two days later.
For readers, the announcement marks the opening of a four-week window in a commercial dispute worth more than EUR 2.6 million. If the defendant does not respond, the court can rule on the plaintiff’s claim as it stands, converting a contested claim into an enforceable judgment without any defence being heard.
