Daimiel destina 6.000 euros a ayudas de hasta 800 para deportistas federados

The Daimiel City Council has announced financial grants intended for individual athletes from the municipality for their participation in official federated competitions of the Spanish Championship, European Championship, and World Championship held between January 1 and November 30, 2026. The summary of the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 212, dated November 3, 2026 (pp. 10320-10322), under announcement number 3534 and identification BDNS 939040. The regulatory bases were approved by the Local Government Board on October 13, 2026.

The call is supported by the 2026-2028 Strategic Grant Plan of the Daimiel City Council, approved in an ordinary session of the Plenary of the Municipal Corporation on December 1, 2025. Its strategic line number 3, dedicated to the promotion of sports, sets as a specific objective to “encourage the promotion of federated sports of grassroots sports entities” and contemplates supporting athletes from the municipality in official federated competitions of national and international scope.

The City Council justifies the measure based on the “public and social interest” of the activity of federated athletes from Daimiel, whom it considers a “backbone element of sports promotion” in the town.

Amount and financing

  • Maximum amount per grant: 800.00 euros.
  • Global budget for the call: 6,000.00 euros.
  • The amount is expandable throughout the fiscal year according to needs and provided that prior credit exists.
  • Financing charged to budget item 341-48903 of the expenditure statement of the municipal budget.
  • Payment will be made upon justification of the economic amounts up to 100% of the granted subsidy.

Deadline and submission of applications

The submission period is one month starting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real; therefore, the count begins on November 4, 2026.

Applications shall be formalized using the model contained in Annex 1 of the resolution, available along with the form on the municipal website (daimiel.es, section for grants to individual athletes 2026). The documentation specified in the bases must be mandatorily attached to the application. The full text of the call and its annexes can be consulted through the National Grant Publicity System, in accordance with the Resolution of 12/10/2015 of the General Comptroller of the State (BOE number 299, of 12/15/2015).

Regulatory framework

The purpose of the call is defined in accordance with the consolidated text of Law 39/2022, of December 30, on Sport, which classifies sport and physical activity as an essential activity and recognizes the right of all persons to their free and voluntary practice.

At the regional level, Law 5/2015, of March 26, on Physical Activity and Sport of Castilla-La Mancha attributes to city councils the design and execution of activities for the promotion and dissemination of physical activity and sport among the population of the municipality, as well as the promotion of associations through economic measures.

The publication is carried out under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

Impact for readers

The call opens a direct funding channel for federated athletes from Daimiel who compete outside the local area, a group that habitually assumes travel, registration, and equipment costs without specific public support. With a ceiling of 800 euros per beneficiary and an initial allocation of 6,000 euros, the City Council extends to the individual level the support it already provides to sports clubs and entities in the municipality, and leaves the door open to increase the credit if demand exceeds the initial forecast.
