CVK lēmums Nr. 83 fiksē 15. Saeimas vēlēšanu iznākumu oficiālajā izdevumā

The Central Election Commission (CVK) announced decision No. 83 “On the results of the 15th Saeima elections” in the official publication “Latvijas Vēstnesis” No. 201 on October 19, 2026. The document is included in the official part of the publication OP 2026/201, in the “CONSTITUTIONAL INSTITUTIONS” section, under the institution Central Election Commission at serial number 5. With this publication, the election outcome acquires official, publicly accessible status.

What was published in the October 19 issue

In a single issue, the CVK published three interrelated decisions regarding the final stage of the 15th Saeima elections:

  • decision No. 81 – on leaving without consideration the application contesting a candidate for deputy of the political party alliance “Saskaņas Centrs” in the 15th Saeima elections;
  • decision No. 82 – on amendments to CVK decision No. 14 of April 16, 2026, “On the distribution of funding to state city and municipality election commissions for the 2026 Saeima elections”;
  • decision No. 83 – on the results of the 15th Saeima elections.

Decision No. 83 is the last of these three and concludes the cycle of confirming election results in the official part of the publication.

Polling station level: orders prior to the recording of results

The confirmation of results was preceded by several CVK orders published in issue No. 194 on October 8, 2026:

  • order No. 02-01.4/4 – on sending voter lists and smartphones to the Central Election Commission;
  • order No. 02-01.4/5 – on organizing a repeat vote at polling station 969;
  • order No. 02-01.4/6 – on the procedure for counting votes at polling station No. 112.

The regulation of the voting procedure was established earlier: CVK decision No. 65 on the approval of instructions and CVK instruction No. 17 “Procedure for extending voting time” were published in issue No. 172 on September 8, 2026.

Administrative and financial preparation

Decisions related to the conduct of the elections were also published in issue No. 190 on October 2, 2026, including CVK decision No. 75 on the distribution of funds necessary for goods and services in polling stations established at the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Latvia, and decision No. 76 on a similar distribution in polling stations established based on voter proposals.

In the field of approving polling station commissions, the CVK has adopted several decisions during 2026, which were published in the issues of August 18 (No. 61–63), September 18 (No. 67–69), September 21 (No. 70), September 28 (No. 71, 72, 74), and October 2 (No. 77, 78). Issue No. 188 of September 30 also published CVK decision No. 60 – a publication clarification regarding amendments to the April 30, 2026, decision No. 16 on the approval of polling station commissions for the 15th Saeima elections.

Why Decision No. 83 is the Decisive Document

Decision No. 83 is the only CVK act published in the October 19 issue that directly relates to the election outcome, rather than to procedures or funding. The other documents – the review of a challenge application (No. 81) and funding amendments (No. 82) – are subordinate to the recording of the result.

Publication in the official gazette means that the results are no longer merely working material for the election commissions, but an official state document with a public reference. It is the reference point for resolving mandate issues and the start of the new Saeima composition’s work.

For readers, this means that further references to the outcome of the 15th Saeima elections must be based on CVK decision No. 83, rather than on provisional results or data from individual polling stations. Similarly, the decision is the basis to be referenced when evaluating election-related challenges, such as the application from a “Saskaņas Centrs” candidate, which was left without review.
