Por FactBox Admin

The Curtis City Council will apply a 3.2% increase in 2027 to the tariffs for municipal water supply, sewerage, and wastewater treatment services, equivalent to the CPI variation for the period from June 2025 to June 2026. The increase was approved by Mayoral Decree number 673/2026, dated September 30, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 193, dated October 9, 2026, under announcement number 2026/6459. The measure affects all service subscribers and also includes new prices for connections, meters, and other works.
The tariff update is provided for in Article 4 of the Regulatory Ordinance for the public non-tax patrimonial provision of water supply, sewerage network, and treatment services, which links the annual review to the evolution of the consumer price index. The announcement is signed by the mayor, Javier Francisco Caínzos Vázquez, in Curtis on October 2, 2026, and includes as an annex the complete table of prices in effect for the 2027 financial year. All amounts are prices excluding VAT and, in the case of sanitation connections, they will be updated annually by the same percentage variation as the service tariffs.
Supply: fixed fee and consumption blocks
For domestic and commercial subscribers, the monthly fixed fee increases from 3.590 to 3.705 euros per subscriber per month, while consumption is billed in blocks:
- First block, from 0 to 10 m³/subscriber/month: from 0.179462 to 0.185205 euros/m³.
- Second block, from 10 to 20 m³/subscriber/month: from 0.289898 to 0.299175 euros/m³.
- Third block, over 20 m³/subscriber/month: from 0.483165 to 0.498626 euros/m³.
Construction subscribers will now pay a monthly fixed fee of 5.642 euros (compared to the previous 5.467) and 0.438790, 0.498626, and 0.569858 euros/m³ in the three blocks, which range from 0 to 15, 15 to 30, and above 30 m³. Subscribers with raw water supply, without treatment, maintain monthly billing with a fixed fee of 5.642 euros and a price of 0.225406 euros/m³.
Sanitation and treatment
In the sanitation service, the monthly fixed fee for domestic and commercial subscribers rises from 1.1044 to 1.1397 euros, and for industrial and construction subscribers, from 3.81 to 3.9319 euros.
For wastewater treatment, subscribers with municipal supply services are billed for the same cubic meters as in the supply service:
- Domestic and commercial: fixed fee of 3.6468 euros/month (previously 3.5337) and consumption of 0.427392 euros/m³ up to 10 m³ and 0.48438 euros/m³ above that threshold.
- Industrial and construction: fixed fee of 4.844 euros/month and 0.612598 euros/m³ for all billed cubic meters.
Subscribers without municipal supply service will pay 7.066 euros per month for domestic and commercial users, and 18.933 euros for commercial, industrial, and construction users. Industries that use their own supply means and discharge a flow into the sewage system significantly higher than that consumed from the municipal network must install measuring devices at their own expense, with a fixed fee of 4.844 euros/month and 0.612598 euros/m³ measured or gauged.
Service connections, meters, and auxiliary services
The price of service connections is calculated for a maximum length of 5 meters and varies according to the diameter and the type of trench restoration:
- ¾ inch: 286.47 euros in soil, 364.44 in asphalt, and 433.93 in tile or sidewalk.
- 1 inch: 306.82, 384.79, and 455.97 euros, respectively.
- 1¼-1½ inches: 367.84, 449.20, and 506.84 euros.
- 2 inches: 393.28, 461.06, and 540.74 euros.
For every meter exceeding 5 meters, between 12.73 and 55.44 euros are added depending on the diameter and type of surface. The installation of a 15 mm meter in a ground pit costs 216.06 euros, and in a battery 95.76 euros (15 mm) or 120.89 euros (20 mm). The rate for meters without installation ranges from 72.73 euros for Ø15 mm to 884.93 euros for Ø65 mm. The wastewater connection costs 419.57 euros in a soil trench, 471.17 in asphalt, and 515.72 in a sidewalk. Additionally, the unsealing of a meter and the connection to the network with the sealing of fittings will be charged at 25.55 euros per unit, verification with a master meter at 29.08 euros, and the collection management of unpaid bills at 5.56 euros.
The revision affects all homes, businesses, and industries connected to the municipal water services of Curtis, which will see the new price schedule reflected in the 2027 invoices. The increase is limited to the CPI variation of the last year, therefore the real increase for subscribers will depend on their level of consumption and the block in which they are situated.
