Cuntis opens grants of 150 euros per minor for studies

The Cuntis City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO no. 169, September 3, 2026) the call for municipal study support grants for the 2026/2027 academic year, aimed at families in economic difficulty with minors enrolled at CPI Don Aurelio. The benefit consists of a single one-time financial aid payment of up to €150 per minor, and the application deadline ends on October 2, 2026.

The call, signed by Mayor Manuel Campos Velay on August 31, 2026, is published as an extract in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the full text is available in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier BDNS 927081.

Beneficiaries and object

Families registered in the Cuntis City Council who have minors under their care enrolled in the 2026/2027 school year at CPI Don Aurelio, in the second stage of early childhood education (from 3 to 5 years), may be beneficiaries. The purpose of the aid is to cover expenses derived from the development of the academic year.

The amount will be paid based on the expenditure incurred and justified, meaning the amount initially granted may be reduced. The grants are compatible with other subsidies or aid for the same purpose, from public or private bodies, provided that the concurrent aid does not exceed the cost of the subsidized materials.

Budget and award criteria

The budget allocated to the program is €1,800.00, charged to budget item 2026.2310.48000 for social emergency expenses, therefore the sum of the grants to be awarded will not exceed that amount. In the event that demand exceeds the budget capacity, priority for the award will be determined by the score obtained, from highest to lowest, after the evaluation and scoring of the applications, until the budget is exhausted.

The regulatory bases of the call are as follows:

• Fiscal ordinance regulating subsidies for cultural, tourist, sporting, youth teaching, environmental, neighborhood participation, consumption, social services, and other purposes (BOPPO no. 248, December 27, 2007).
• 2026 budget execution bases.

Deadline and submission

The bases of the call will be announced in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra, on the Cuntis City Council website (concellodecuntis.sedelectronica.gal) and on the Notice Board, and informative proclamations will also be prepared. The application submission period will begin the day following the publication of the bases in the BOPPO and will end on October 2, 2026, and no applications outside the deadline will be admitted.

This call represents direct support for families in Cuntis with children of early childhood education age, in a context of increasing start-of-term expenses (registration fees, smocks, tracksuits, gym shoes, backpacks, and consumable materials). With a budget of 1,800 euros, the program seeks to alleviate the economic burden on family units with the greatest socio-economic difficulties in the municipality.
