Cuatro pueblos de Guadalajara estrenan local de votación el 29 de noviembre

The Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office of Guadalajara has modified the address of the polling stations in four municipalities of the province —Sayatón, Hueva, Pozo de Almoguera, and Cogolludo— ahead of the general elections on November 29, 2026. The change was communicated by the city councils themselves and affects, in each case, one section with a single polling table. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 202, dated October 22, 2026, under the heading “Modification of electoral premises. General Elections 2026.”

The starting point: the census closed on August 1

The Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 194, extraordinary and dated October 12, 2026, published the complete list of sections, tables, and electoral premises of the province for the elections on November 29. That list was prepared in accordance with article 24.1 of Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime, which assigns the provincial delegations of the Electoral Census Office the determination of the number and boundaries of the sections and the corresponding tables, after hearing from the city councils, and was compiled according to the electoral census closed on August 1, 2026.

Following that publication, several city councils reported that the planned venues could not be maintained and proposed alternative addresses. The provincial delegation has now resolved to make these rectifications public “for general knowledge,” so that the voters of the concerned tables know they must go to another building.

The four changes, municipality by municipality

All changes affect district 01, section 001, single table, and voters across the entire alphabetical range (A-Z):

  • Sayatón (municipality 252): the polling station moves from the Old Schools building, at plaza San Roque 5, to the Coworking Civic Center, at calle San Roque 2, postal code 19119.
  • Hueva (municipality 150): voting is moved from the Town Hall at plaza Melchor López Jiménez 1 to the Municipal Library, at calle Mayor 1, postal code 19119.
  • Pozo de Almoguera (municipality 224): the venue is no longer the Multipurpose Social Center at travesía de las Higueras 12 and is set at the City Council, at plaza Mayor 1, postal code 19112.
  • Cogolludo (municipality 092): the New Library of the City Council, at plaza Mayor 1, is abandoned, and voting will take place at the María Rosa Fernández Preschool, at calle San Francisco 11, postal code 19230.

Who it binds and how to verify it

The modification affects the voters registered in those four sections, which in the October list appeared with only one polling station each and without division by surnames. The number of polling stations and the boundaries of the sections remain unchanged: only the physical location where they are established and where the ballots are deposited is altered.

The announcement is signed in Guadalajara, on October 22, 2026, by the provincial delegate of the Electoral Census Office, Marta Rubio Sanjuán, and bears the verification code 280e0665a32f976f4353fb00ee1fa65818fa1b04 for verification on the electronic headquarters of the Provincial Council.

As a complementary reference, the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 201, dated October 21, 2026, included the list of official venues reserved by the city councils for campaign events within the jurisdiction of the Guadalajara Zonal Electoral Board, a list distinct from that of the polling stations.

Why it matters

With the electoral calendar already underway, a poorly communicated change of polling station could leave a voter unable to cast their ballot on November 29. In small municipalities like these, where there is a single polling station for the entire town’s census, the location is the only point of reference: it is advisable to check the address before leaving home and, in case of doubt, consult the official publication or the corresponding city council.
