The Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha has agreed, in its meeting on September 4, 2026, to the appointment of four justices of the peace for four municipalities in the province of Ciudad Real. The agreement, signed by the Secretary of Government of the court, Sigfrido Mangas Morales, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 172, dated September 8, 2026, page 8162, under announcement number 2873.

The appointments are made by virtue of Regulation 3/1995, of June 7, published in the Official State Gazette on July 13, 1995 (article 20), and in accordance with articles 101.2 and 101.4 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary, in compliance with the agreement of the Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary of December 1, 1995.

Anyone who has already taken an oath or promise previously for the same position shall not be required to repeat it.

The duration of the term shall be four years, computed from the date of publication of the appointment in the Official Gazette of the Province. The agreement is subject to electronic verification via the Secure Verification Code E04799402-PF:Ydc2-8otd-Abna-Xvxp-C.

Appeals against the agreement

An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the appointment agreement within a period of one month, counted from the day following its notification or publication, before the Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary, in accordance with the grounds and formalities established by Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Relevance for readers

These appointments guarantee the continuity of the administration of local justice in the affected municipalities, where the justice of the peace performs essential functions such as the civil registry, conciliation acts, and the processing of minor matters. The renewal of these positions, with a four-year term, ensures the coverage of the justices of the peace courts in Villarta de San Juan, Ruidera, Argamasilla de Calatrava, and San Lorenzo de Calatrava, bringing justice closer to the residents of the province.
