Cuéllar announces its XXXVIII photography contest for the patron saint festivities

The Cuéllar City Council has announced the XXXVIII “Fiestas de Cuéllar 2026” Photography Contest, the summary of whose rules is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Segovia number 101, dated August 24, 2026, with the official reference RC-11331. The call for entries distributes a total budget of 800.00 euros across various prizes and keeps the submission period open until September 15 at 12:00 PM.

The announcement, signed by Mayor Carlos Fraile de Benito on August 18, 2026, is processed in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and is registered in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier BDNS 925558. Open and Free Participation

Anyone who wishes to participate may do so, with free registration. Minors must present authorization signed by their father, mother, guardian, or legal representative.

Purpose and Prizes

The purpose of the competition is to reward the best photographs that capture the theme of the municipality’s patron saint festivals. The total budget amounts to 800.00 euros, distributed among various prizes that will be awarded to the works selected by the jury.

Evaluation Criteria

The jury will evaluate the technical and aesthetic quality of the images, their originality, the narrative and documentary capacity of each photograph, and its identification with the values, atmosphere, and traditions of the Fiestas de Cuéllar. For prizes specifically linked to the bull runs (encierros), the representativeness of this event will also be taken into account.

Deadline and Submission

The submission period for works begins from the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Province of Segovia and ends on September 15 at 12:00 PM, counted from the day following the publication. The format and delivery conditions for the photographs are detailed in point 6 of the rules, accessible in full on the Electronic Office of the Cuéllar City Council.

The call for entries, which reaches its thirty-eighth edition, consolidates a tradition that invites residents and visitors to portray the atmosphere, traditions, and bull runs of the patron saint festivals of Cuéllar, contributing to the dissemination and preservation of the municipality’s festive heritage through the eyes of the participants.
