Croatian industrial producer prices edge down to 99.9 in July

Por FactBox Admin

The producer price index for industrial products on the domestic market fell to 99.9 in July 2026, compared with the previous month, according to data published by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (Državni zavod za statistiku). The figure, released in the official gazette Narodne novine, issue 91 of 19 August 2026, continues a downward trend in producer prices and is closely watched by manufacturers and analysts.

The announcement was signed by the Bureau’s Director General, Lidija Brković, in Zagreb on 13 August 2026, and carries the official reference Klasa: 954-01/26-01/01 with the registry number Urbroj: 555-01-05-03-02-26-16.

What the index measures

The producer price index tracks the prices that domestic industrial producers receive for their goods on the Croatian market, before they reach wholesalers and retailers. A value below 100 indicates that producer prices fell compared with the reference month, in this case June 2026.

The July reading of 99.9 marks a slight month-on-month decline, extending the recent easing in industrial price pressure. Because producer prices tend to feed through to consumer prices with a lag, the figure is a leading indicator for inflation trends in the coming months.

Who publishes the data

The index is compiled and published by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, the national statistical authority responsible for official economic indicators. The Bureau issues the producer price index on a monthly basis, alongside related measures such as the consumer price index.

The same issue of Narodne novine also carries the consumer price index for July 2026, which stood at 99.8 relative to June, confirming a parallel easing in consumer-level prices.

Why it matters

For manufacturers, a falling producer price index can signal softer input and output price dynamics, affecting margins and pricing strategies. For analysts and policymakers, the trend provides an early signal of disinflationary pressure in the Croatian economy.

The publication is part of the Bureau’s regular statistical releases and is available to the public through the official gazette. The July 2026 producer price index of 99.9 confirms that industrial price growth on the domestic market remains subdued, a development that will be followed closely as the Bureau releases subsequent monthly readings.
