Croatia closes Knin–Zadar railway crossing at kilometre 12+393

The Agency for Railway Safety (Agencija za sigurnost željezničkog prometa) has closed for traffic the existing railway-road crossing located at the intersection of railway line M606 Knin–Zadar at kilometre 12+393 and a field road. The decision, signed by the Agency’s director Želimir Delač, was adopted in Zagreb on 31 July 2026 and published in Narodne novine, the official gazette of the Republic of Croatia, No. 92 of 21 August 2026, under article 1136.
The measure takes effect on the day of its adoption, meaning the crossing is no longer available for road traffic as of the date the decision was issued.
Legal basis and issuing body
The decision rests on Article 98, paragraph 10 of the Law on Safety and Interoperability of the Railway System (Narodne novine No. 63/20), read together with Article 22 of the Ordinance on the Conditions for Determining the Crossing of a Railway Line and Other Traffic Routes (Narodne novine No. 111/15). Under this framework, the director of the Agency is empowered to order the closure of a level crossing for traffic.
