Extraordinary credits finance the Avilista Route and the Quixote Trail

The Plenary Session of the Most Excellent Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, in an ordinary session held on September 4, 2026, agreed to the initial approval of the credit modification file no. 20/8MC for extraordinary credits and credit supplements, within the Corporation’s budget for the year 2026. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real, number 172, dated September 8, 2026 (announcement number 2871).
The budget modification incorporates a list of nominative grants that finance cultural, commemorative, and social projects in various municipalities of the province. Among the most prominent items are the Avilista Route of the V Centenary of San Juan de Ávila, with 200,000 euros, and the sculpture in honor of the medical profession, with 40,000 euros.
Highlighted items of the file
The bulk of the credit is concentrated in two singular actions:
- €200,000 to the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción to enable the headquarters of the Avilista Route of the V Centenary of San Juan de Ávila.
- €40,000 to the Official College of Physicians of Ciudad Real for the project “Sculpture in honor of the medical profession”.
- €31,150 to the Molino SOYSPORT Sports Club for the active and cultural tourism project Camino del Quijote.
Grants to city councils and entities
Alongside the large items, the file includes aid to local corporations and associations:
- €5,000 to the City Council of Almuradiel for Commemorative Days and Active Theater.
- €3,000 to the City Council of Caracuel de Calatrava for the Cultural Weekend.
- €4,000 to the City Council of Socuéllamos for the institutional meeting of the Argentine province of Mendoza at MANCHAVINO 2026.
- €5,000 to the Association of Cervantists for the XVI International Colloquium of the Association of Cervantists (XVI CIAC).
- €3,000 to the Royal Archconfraternity of the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar for the celebration of its CC anniversary.
Support for early intervention and social action
The file also allocates funds to entities in the socio-sanitary field:
- €2,000 to the APATI Association (Early Intervention, Family Support and Early Childhood) for technological resources.
- €2,000 to the ATEMDE Association (Early Intervention and Child Development) for equipment for the Early Intervention Service.
- €2,400 to the LANTANA Association for equipment for the services it provides to various groups.
Public information and period for allegations
In compliance with Article 169.1, to which Article 177.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, approving the consolidated text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, refers, the file is submitted for public information for the purpose of possible claims for a period of fifteen business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Provincial Gazette and on the notice board. The agreement is signed by the president, Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero, in Ciudad Real on September 4, 2026.
The final approval of these extraordinary credits will allow the Provincial Council to mobilize resources for commemorations of provincial scope, such as the V Centenary of San Juan de Ávila and the Camino del Quijote, in addition to strengthening the early intervention network and the cultural action of the municipalities, in a fiscal year in which the Corporation concentrates its investment effort on projects of identity and territorial cohesion.
