Court serves bankruptcy ban writ on Jason Coyle by public notice
Por FactBox Admin

Sø- og Handelsretten has received a writ seeking a bankruptcy ban (konkurskarantæne) against Jason Coyle in case BS-42685/2025-SHR, concerning RedCo Fishing ApS under konkurs. Because his address is unknown and the court has been unable to make contact with him, the notice is served publicly in Statstidende on 13 October 2026. The writ, signed by the court on 9 October 2026, gives the defendant four weeks from publication to file a reply.
The announcement appears in the section “Stævninger og indkaldelser” (summonses and notices) under persons and companies. Public service is the route used when ordinary service has not been possible, and the court states expressly that this was the case here. The case is registered as BS-42685/2025-SHR, with RedCo Fishing ApS as the company in bankruptcy and Jason Coyle as the defendant.
What the court has ordered
- A deadline of four weeks from the announcement to upload a reply (svarskrift) at www.minretssag.dk.
- The reply must also state an address that can be used for future contact with the defendant.
- The writ and its annexes can be obtained from Sø- og Handelsretten, tel. 9968 4600, Amaliegade 35, 2. sal, 1256 København K.
- Further information on what a konkurskarantæne involves, and on the rules in konkurslovens §§ 162 and 163 and § 164, stk. 2, is available on the court’s website.
What a bankruptcy ban means
Under the rules set out in Statstidende’s notices on konkurskarantæne, a person subject to such a ban may not take part in the management of a business for up to five years without personally and unlimitedly answering for its obligations. In practice this bars the person from company directorships for the duration of the ban.
The ban is entered in Erhvervsstyrelsen’s register of persons subject to konkurskarantæne, which records when it takes effect and when it expires. Information in the register may be passed to the bankruptcy court, the police and the prosecution service, and a ban imposed on stricter terms is also forwarded to Skatteforvaltningen. Breaching a ban can trigger criminal liability under the provisions on running a business without being entitled to do so, and in a new case the court may extend the ban to personally run businesses and partnerships.
Case background
The writ concerns a konkurskarantænesag brought in connection with the bankruptcy of RedCo Fishing ApS. The court notes that it has not been able to come into contact with the defendant and that other service has not been possible, which is the precondition for serving the document publicly through Statstidende.
The notice is dated Sø- og Handelsretten, 9 October 2026, and was published in Statstidende on 13 October 2026. The four-week deadline therefore runs from the date of publication, and a reply filed after that point does not stop the court from ruling on the claim as set out in the writ.
Why it matters
A konkurskarantæne is one of the strongest commercial sanctions available under Danish bankruptcy law, and it is served publicly precisely when the person concerned cannot be found. For creditors, business partners and anyone dealing with the company, the notice is the first public signal that a court is considering barring Jason Coyle from management for up to five years, and that the outcome will be recorded in Erhvervsstyrelsen’s register once decided.
