Por FactBox Admin
The City Council of Corvera de Asturias has provisionally approved the modification of eleven tax ordinances and three regulatory agreements on public prices, as well as the repeal of a fourth agreement, in an ordinary plenary session held on July 28, 2026. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 168, dated August 31, 2026, and opens a period of thirty business days for public exhibition affecting all taxpayers of the council.
The decision, signed by the Acting Mayor in Corvera de Asturias on August 18, 2026, is processed in accordance with Article 17 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the consolidated text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. During the public exhibition period, those with a direct interest may examine the file and submit claims.
Modified municipal taxes
The reform affects the main local taxes, including both direct taxes and fees for municipal services:
- Tax Ordinance No. 101, real estate tax (IBI).
- Tax Ordinance No. 103, vehicle tax.
- Tax Ordinance No. 201, tax on constructions, installations, and works (ICIO).
- Tax Ordinance No. 301, fees for the issuance of administrative documents and provision of general services.
- Tax Ordinance No. 302, fee for urban planning licenses and acts of control or verification of responsible declarations in urban planning.
- Tax Ordinance No. 303, fee for the opening of establishments via responsible declaration or license.
Service fees and public prices
The plenary also modifies the fees for basic services and the public prices of municipal facilities:
- Tax Ordinance No. 305, water supply fee.
- Tax Ordinance No. 306, fee for the collection, transport, and treatment of urban solid waste.
- Tax Ordinance No. 307, sewerage service fee.
- Tax Ordinance No. 309, fee for the occupation of local public use land with tables, chairs, stands, shacks, sales booths, shows, and attractions.
- Tax Ordinance No. 314, fee for the removal of vehicles from public roads and their transfer to the municipal depot.
- Agreement No. 354, public prices for sports and recreational services.
- Agreement No. 357, public prices for the use of premises for business purposes.
- Agreement No. 359, public price for holiday school services.
Repeal and public exhibition process
Along with the modifications, the repeal of Agreement No. 356 is agreed upon, which regulated the public price for the services of the Municipal First Cycle Early Childhood Education School of the Principality of Asturias Network.
The agreements shall be displayed to the public on the Town Hall notice board for a period of thirty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOPA. If no claims are filed during that period, the agreements shall be understood as definitively adopted without the need for a new plenary agreement, and shall be published under the terms of article 17.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004.
The reform directly affects the pockets of the residents of Corvera, as it touches upon generalized payment taxes such as the IBI (Property Tax), the vehicle tax, and the water, waste, and sewage fees. The allegations period is the only window for taxpayers with a direct interest to influence the outcome before the agreements are definitively approved.
