Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Las Palmas has published an announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas (number 105, dated September 2, 2026) establishing special traffic regulation measures on the FV-30 road in Fuerteventura on the occasion of the Feast of Nuestra Señora de la Peña, which will be celebrated from September 16 to 20, 2026. The measure, adopted at the request of the Insular Council of Fuerteventura, includes road closures and restrictions on truck traffic that will affect thousands of drivers and residents of the island.
Legal framework and issuing body
The announcement, registered under number 1,795,338 and signed by the provincial head of Traffic, Eva Canitrot Vázquez, is issued for reasons of road safety, mobility, and traffic flow, given the expectation of a large influx of people and vehicles on public roads during the celebrations.
The measure is supported by Article 5, sections k) and n), and Article 16 of Legislative Royal Decree 6/2015, of October 30, as well as Articles 37 and 39 of the General Circulation Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 1428/2003, of November 21.
Traffic restrictions on the FV-30
The measures apply to three distinct sections of the FV-30 road, with different schedules and scopes:
- Section between pk 20+500 and pk 30+760: restriction on the circulation of trucks with a maximum authorized mass exceeding 3,500 kilograms, as well as vehicle combinations, articulated vehicles, and special vehicles, from 1:00 PM on September 17 until 2:00 PM on September 20.
- Section between pk 9+360 and pk 19+160: closure to traffic, except for collective passenger transport vehicles, passengers with a disability card or residents, and emergency vehicles, from 2:00 PM on September 18 until 3:00 AM on September 19.
- Section between pk 19+160 and pk 20+500: closure to traffic with the same exceptions, from 3:00 PM on September 17 until 4:00 PM on September 20.
Exceptions and recommendations
In the sections with total closure, collective passenger transport vehicles, vehicles for passengers with a disability card, local residents, and emergency vehicles are authorized to circulate. Other drivers must plan alternative routes during the period these measures are in effect.
Impact for readers
The Festivity of Nuestra Señora de la Peña is one of the most attended celebrations on the Fuerteventura calendar, and restrictions will affect the main access road to the area for four days. Drivers are recommended to check the signage and official notices before traveling, and transporters should anticipate the truck restriction on the longest section, which will remain active throughout the weekend.
