Cortegada sets the Plan Madruga quotas for the 2026-2027 course

The Local Government Board of the Cortegada City Council approved, in an extraordinary session held on August 21, 2026, the public price for the Cortegada Early Bird Plan 2026-2027, the municipal early-morning service that cares for minors before the start of the school day. The agreement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on September 3, 2026, in the Local Entities section, under reference R. 2.059.
The measure directly affects the family work-life balance of all fathers and mothers with children schooled in the municipality, by regulating the fees to be paid during the coming school year.
Two modes of use
The service is offered in two options, depending on the regularity with which families require morning care. The first, called “monthly fixed,” requires registration before the start of the course and allows the use of the service every school day. The second, “sporadic,” does not require prior registration and is intended for occasional circumstances, provided there are vacant spots in the group and with a request made at least one day in advance.
Rates by bracket
The monthly fees for the fixed option vary based on residency (census registration) and the number of siblings:
- Child registered in the Municipality of Cortegada: 20 euros/month.
- Two registered siblings: 30 euros/month per family.
- Child not registered: 30 euros/month.
- Two non-registered siblings: 40 euros/month per family.
- Large families (registered or not): free service.
For the sporadic option, a price of 3 euros/day is established, without the obligation of prior registration, although use without notice is permitted in cases justified by the families.
A boost to work-life balance
The agreement, signed by Mayor Avelino Luis de Francisco Martínez, seeks to guarantee an accessible and progressive service that promotes labor and family reconciliation in the municipality. The free service for large families and the reduced price for residents reinforce the social nature of the measure, which is part of the municipal policy of support for families with schooled minors.
