The position of director of the Ordesa National Park has been announced.

The Official Gazette of Aragon number 155, of August 12, 2026, publishes Order HAP/1166/2026, of August 10, of the Department of Finance, Interior and Public Administration, which announces the provision, by the system of free designation, of the post of director-conservator of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, attached to the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Forest Management. The post appears in section II (Authorities and Personnel), under the heading of competitive examinations and competitions, with code BOA20260812002, and civil servants of the Aragonese Administration and of the General State Administration may apply for it.

The order is issued by virtue of the competence attributed in Article 3.3.j) of Decree 208/1999, of November 17, of the Government of Aragon. The provision conforms to Article 17.5 of the consolidated text of the Law on the Regulation of the Civil Service of the Autonomous Community of Aragon, approved by Legislative Decree 1/1991, of February 19, and to Article 20 of the Regulations on the provision of posts, administrative career and professional promotion of civil servants, approved by Decree 80/1997, of June 10.

The post and its requirements

The post, with post number 19323 in the List of Positions and level 27, is located in Torla (Huesca), within functional area 300 (Natural environment management), with duties inherent to the direction and management of the park and a specific supplement of type B. The requirements for access are:

• Group A1, Higher Specialist Scale, Forestry Engineers.
• Higher Specialist Scale, Senior Specialist Officers, with specialties in Geology, Biology and Environmental Sciences.
• Type B driving licence, suitable for the post.

Who may apply

Civil servants of the Administration of the Autonomous Community of Aragon who meet the stated requirements may apply for the post. Civil servants of the General State Administration belonging to Corps or Scales whose functional characteristics are similar to those required or suitable for the content of the post may also do so. As this is a free-designation post, the competent authority assesses the suitability of the applicants without the need for a regulated competitive procedure.

Deadline and form of submission

Applications, accompanied by a curriculum vitae and by supporting documents evidencing the merits claimed, shall be addressed to the General Directorate of the Civil Service:

• Through the Document Registration Units of the Government of Aragon or by any of the means provided for in article 16 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations.
• Within fifteen business days counted from the day following the publication of the order in the Official Gazette of Aragon.
• If the submission is made electronically, all the documentation provided must be grouped in a single CSV.

Appeals and signature

Against the order, which ends the administrative route, an optional appeal for reconsideration may be filed with the Minister of Finance, Interior and Public Administration within one month, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015 and articles 60 and 64 of Law 5/2021, of 29 June, on the Organization and Legal Regime of the Autonomous Public Sector of Aragon. An administrative contentious appeal may also be filed directly with the Administrative Litigation Court of Zaragoza within two months, according to article 46 of Law 29/1998, of 13 July. The order, dated in Zaragoza on 10 August 2026, appears signed by delegation (P.A.) by the Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport, M.ª del Mar Vaquero Perianez, pursuant to the decree of 1 July 2026 of the President of the Government of Aragon.

The call opens an opportunity for qualified public employment for senior natural environment technicians: taking charge of the management of the first protected area of the community and one of the great national parks of the Pyrenees, with headquarters in Torla. By admitting officials from the General State Administration, the order broadens the range of candidates and favors mobility between the regional and state administrations in the field of natural area management.
