Convocada la jefatura de sección de Urología del Hospital Miguel Servet

The Aragonese Health Service has announced a selection process for the temporary provision of a position as Head of Section of the Urology Unit in the Defense Hospital of the Urology Service of the “Miguel Servet” University Hospital in Zaragoza. The call is formalized through the Resolution of September 1, 2026, of the Management Directorate of the Aragonese Health Service, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 178, dated September 14, 2026, in section II, under the competitive examinations and contests section.

The call is supported by Decree 37/2011, of March 8, of the Government of Aragon, regarding the selection of statutory and labor personnel and the provision of positions in the centers of the Aragonese Health Service, whose Title III regulates the provision of singularized positions. The process is promoted at the proposal of the Management of the Zaragoza II Health Sector, to which the Zaragoza hospital is assigned, and is further governed by the Basic Statute of Public Employees and Law 55/2003 of the Framework Statute for statutory personnel.

Requirements and participants

Permanent statutory or labor personnel, and career civil servants in the category of Urology Specialist Physician who provide services in a health center of the National Health System, as well as holders of linked positions, may apply. Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess the title of Medical Specialist in Urology issued by the competent Ministry, or be in a position to obtain it within the application submission period.
  • Accredit a minimum of three years of experience in the category of Urology Specialist Physician.
  • Be at least sixteen years of age and not exceed the compulsory retirement age, and possess Spanish nationality or meet the requirements of Article 57 of the Basic Statute of Public Employees.

Applications, accompanied by ID, degree, and proof of experience, must be submitted to the Registry of the Aragonese Health Service (Plaza de la Convivencia, number 2, 50017 Zaragoza). The deadline will be fifteen business days from the day following the publication in the gazette.

Two-phase procedure

The process consists of two phases. The first, which is eliminatory, consists of the presentation and defense in a public session of a clinical management project for the care unit, graded with a maximum of one hundred points and a minimum of fifty to pass. The second phase evaluates the applicants’ curricula according to the merit scale of Annex II, also with a maximum of one hundred points.

The suitability of the applicants will be assessed by a specialized technical Commission of seven members, appointed by the General Management, consisting of a president, a secretary, and an equal number of alternates. The final score will be the sum of both phases, and the Commission will submit a proposal for the appointment of the candidate with the highest score, using tie-breaking criteria that prioritize the first phase and, if applicable, the alphabetical order resulting from the public draw of the Aragonese Institute of Public Administration.

Appointment and evaluation

The appointment will be temporary, with a duration of four years, renewable for similar periods if the interested party passes the quadrennial evaluations provided for in Article 69 of Decree 37/2011. The successful candidate must sign a quadrennial clinical management agreement with the center’s management based on the submitted project, and the center’s Management, together with the Aragonese Institute of Health Sciences, will assess their managerial competencies to establish a training plan. The assumption of office must take place within one month from the publication of the appointment.

The call presents a significant opportunity for urology specialists within the National Health System who aspire to lead a care unit in Aragon’s largest hospital, featuring a clinical management model based on objectives and periodic evaluation of results.
