The Management of the “Ramón y Cajal” University Hospital of the Madrid Health Service has announced, via Resolution of August 10, 2026, the coverage by provisional appointment of the Head of the Allergology Service of this healthcare center. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) number 208, dated September 1, 2026, pages 49 to 52, with official reference BOCM-20260901-4, and is signed by the Director-Manager of the hospital, Carlos Mingo Rodríguez.
The call is supported by Law 55/2003, the Framework Statute of the Statutory Personnel of the Health Services, and by the fourteenth additional provision of Royal Decree-Law 1/1999, which establishes that the positions of Head of Service and Section of a healthcare nature shall be filled through a public call. The process is based on the evaluation of the applicants’ professional curriculum and a technical management project for the healthcare unit, and responds to the existence of a budget-funded vacant position.
Candidate Requirements
To participate, it is necessary to meet a series of general and specific conditions:
- Be permanent staff of the National Health System and hold Spanish nationality or that of a member state of the European Union.
- Not have been dismissed from service through disciplinary proceedings in the previous six years nor be disqualified from exercising public functions.
- Not have been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity nor for human trafficking.
- Hold a degree as a Bachelor’s or Doctor in Medicine and Surgery and the title of Specialist in Allergology.
- Accredit a minimum of five years of performance in a position of the specialty in healthcare institutions of the National Health System or in hospitals with accredited teaching programs.
Selection Procedure
The process consists of two phases evaluated with a scale detailed in Annex I of the resolution:
- Evaluation of the professional history of the applicants, with a maximum of 80 points, which includes university training, teaching, scientific, and research activity.
- Evaluation of the Technical Management Project of the Service, with a maximum of 120 points, in which the design of an Allergology Service with its own identity and its interrelation with the rest of the hospital services is especially valued.
Applicants will defend their professional history and technical project in a public session before the Selection Committee, which may ask as many questions as it deems appropriate. Once the evaluation is complete, the Committee will submit the proposal for provisional appointment to the Management.
Applications and Deadlines
Applications must be submitted electronically through the General Electronic Registry of the Community of Madrid, within a period of one month starting from the day following the publication of the resolution in the BOCM. Along with the application, documentation such as the specialist degree, certification of services provided, professional history, technical project, and a negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders must be provided.
The provisional appointment will have a maximum duration of four years, at the end of which an evaluation of the activities carried out will be mandatorily conducted. The Management Directorate may revoke the appointment for duly justified organizational or healthcare reasons, following a report from the Healthcare Technical Board.
Relevance of the call
This call opens the door to the renewal of a key healthcare management position in one of the region’s large public hospitals, at a time when allergology is gaining special prominence due to the increase in allergic pathologies. Selection based on merits and a management project guarantees a transparent process based on professional capacity, with a direct impact on the quality of care received by patients of the Madrid Health Service.
