Constituidas las juntas electorales de zona de Ciudad Real para las generales

The seven zonal electoral boards of the province of Ciudad Real were constituted on October 9, 2026, in view of the general elections on November 29. The Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real publishes this Monday, October 12, in issue number 196, the minutes and edicts of constitution of the bodies of Ciudad Real, Alcázar de San Juan-Tomelloso, Daimiel, Manzanares, Puertollano-Almadén, Valdepeñas, and Villanueva de los Infantes. Announcements 3280 to 3286 contain the nominal list of presidents, judicial members, and secretaries for each of them.

The constitution complies with Article 14 of Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), which orders the formation of the zonal electoral boards and the publication of their composition in the official provincial gazette. The electoral appointment derives from Royal Decree 806/2026, calling for elections to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate, published in the Official State Gazette on October 6, 2026, with voting set for November 29, 2026. The judicial members were appointed by the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha.

The board of Ciudad Real (announcement 3281) is presided over by Virginia Laura Egea Hernando, magistrate-judge of the Court of First Instance of Ciudad Real, position no. 6 of the Civil and Instruction Section. The body is completed by judicial members Carmelo Ordóñez Fernández, from position no. 1 of the Commercial Section, and Agustín Calcerrada Rincón, from position no. 1 of the Civil and Instruction Section, with Fernando Sigüienza González as secretary.

In Alcázar de San Juan-Tomelloso (announcement 3280), Javier García López presides, magistrate of position no. 2 of the Civil and Instruction Section of the Court of First Instance of Alcázar de San Juan. The members are Mairena Martínez Moreno and Claudia Moure Blanco, and the secretary is José Juan Gutiérrez Cejudo. The headquarters is established at calle Mediodía no. 8, Alcázar de San Juan (13600).

The board of Daimiel (announcement 3282) is presided over by María de la Luz Ruiz Berbis, magistrate of the Court of First Instance of Daimiel, with María Gerónima Llabres Martorel and José Lara Astiaso as judicial members and Ana Belén Colmenero Peraba as secretary.

  • Puertollano-Almadén (announcement 3284): presided over by Laura Sotoca Contreras, presiding judge of the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3 of Puertollano; members Elena Jiménez Sánchez and Soledad García Blasco; secretary Francisco Javier Culebras Espinosa.
  • Valdepeñas (announcement 3285): presided over by Teresa Diego de Miguel, presiding magistrate-judge of the Court of Instance of Valdepeñas; members Verónica Villar Antón and Diego Martínez Sotorra; secretary Marina Ruiz Rubio, who participates with a voice but without a vote.
  • Villanueva de los Infantes (announcement 3286): presided over by Valeriano Sánchez Horcas-Ballesteros; members Beatriz Garrido Felipe and Rosa María Angosto Agudo; secretary Bienvenido Ruiz Octavio.

Non-judicial members and next steps

The minutes of Valdepeñas and Puertollano-Almadén emphasize that the constitution is initial and that the subsequent incorporation of members of non-judicial origin remains open, who will be appointed in accordance with article 11.1 b) of the LOREG once the candidacies have been proclaimed. In the case of Valdepeñas, the judicial members stated that none of them are running in the elections, therefore no substitution was necessary.

The boards agreed to send certification of their composition to the Provincial Electoral Board and order its insertion in the Official Provincial Gazette, a procedure materialized in issue number 196 of this October 12, 2026.

A decisive first step of the electoral process

The zonal electoral boards are the first step of the electoral administration: they arbitrate and supervise the process in each judicial district, resolve claims and appeals regarding the census, candidacies, and campaign acts, and ensure the equality of the elections. Their constitution formally opens the electoral calendar in the province of Ciudad Real leading up to the appointment on November 29.
