Constituida la Junta Electoral Provincial de Guadalajara para las elecciones generales

The Provincial Electoral Board of Guadalajara was constituted on October 9, 2026, for the general elections of November 29, according to the edict published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, issue number 195, dated October 13, 2026. The call for elections derives from Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5, published in the Official State Gazette on October 6.

The edict is signed by the president of the board, María Elena Mayor Rodrigo, and is issued in compliance with article 14.3 of the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), which requires the constitution of these bodies to be publicized in the provincial gazette. The constitutive session was held on October 9, following a meeting and vote among the judicial members appointed by agreement of the Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary on October 8, 2026.

The board acts as the arbiter of the electoral process in the constituency and assumes competencies over the census, candidacies, claims, and results. Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5, ordered the dissolution of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate and set the date for the polls for November 29, 2026.

Composition of the Provincial Electoral Board

  • President: María Elena Mayor Rodrigo.
  • Judicial members: María Rocío Montes Rosado and María Cristina Mendigutía de la Cruz.
  • Secretary: Carolina Varas García.
  • Pursuant to article 12 of the LOREG, the provincial delegate of the Electoral Census Office, Marta Rubio Sanjuán, is part of the board.

Zonal boards also constituted

The same issue of the gazette records the constitution of the three zonal electoral boards of the province, all dated October 9, 2026, with members appointed by the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha:

  • Zonal Electoral Board of Guadalajara, presided over by Juan Antonio Flecha Muñoz, with Ángela Sanz Rubio and Susana Fuertes Escribano as judicial members and María Tenorio Ríos as secretary.
  • Zonal Electoral Board of Molina de Aragón, presided over by Bárbara de Velasco Oria de Rueda, with Paula Álvaro Valencia and Jesús Gómez Sánchez as members and Beatriz Vega Hernández as secretary.
  • Zonal Electoral Board of Sigüenza, presided over by Gloria Teresa Mayo Genovés, with Jaime Klein López and José Miguel Jiménez París as members and María del Mar Vicente Hernández as secretary.

Census, polling stations, and deadlines open

The Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 194, extraordinary issue of October 12, 2026, published the list of sections, polling stations, and electoral venues for the municipalities of the province, prepared by the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office based on the census closed as of August 1, 2026. Residents abroad vote at a special polling station formed by the Provincial Electoral Board.

Pursuant to Article 24.3 of the LOREG, electors have six days from the date of publication to file claims against the delimitation of sections before the Provincial Electoral Board, which shall issue a final ruling within five days. Gazette number 192, of October 8, 2026, had already published the list of local entities with irregular registrations—Checa, Henche, El Olivar, and Campisábalos—for the purposes of challenging the census.

The constitution of the Provincial Electoral Board formally opens the electoral calendar in Guadalajara and affects the entire census of the province, which must vote on November 29 at the polling stations already published. Until then, the board will be the reference body for candidacies, claims, and appeals.
