Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Electoral Board of Córdoba was constituted on October 9, 2026, with Fernando Caballero García as president, ahead of the general elections on November 29. This is recorded in the edict signed by the Board’s secretary, José Miguel Cantador Moreno, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba on October 13, 2026 (reference BOP-A-2026-3464, p. 14757).
Legal framework and call to election
The edict is issued in compliance with Article 14.3 of Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), and confirms that the constitution took place in accordance with Article 14.1 of the same regulation. The founding session was held on October 9, 2026.
The elections were called by Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5, published in the Official State Gazette on October 6, which dissolved the Congress of Deputies and the Senate and set the election date for November 29, 2026. Several provincial records also invoke Organic Law 1/2025.

Agreed procedures and one resignation
The boards agreed to send an official notice to the Provincial Electoral Board of Córdoba reporting their members, notify the president of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, and communicate the constitution to the mayors of the municipalities in each electoral district.
In Posadas, the judicial member Lorena Cañete Rodríguez-Sedano submitted her resignation because November 29 coincides with a 24-hour on-call shift in the judicial district of Córdoba. The president accepted the resignation, and it was agreed to request the appointment of a substitute member from the High Court of Justice of Andalusia.
With this publication, the electoral process formally begins throughout the province: the Provincial Electoral Board and the ten zone boards now assume the administration and supervision of the scrutiny, the proclamation of candidacies, and the resolution of claims until the election date on November 29.
