The Provincial Electoral Board of Lleida was constituted on October 9, 2026, in a session held on the occasion of the call for general elections for the upcoming November 29. The Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida publishes this Tuesday, October 13, in issue 195, the edict making public the composition of the body, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_195_8489 and signature date of October 9, 2026.

The edict is issued in accordance with the provisions of articles 10 and 14 of Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime, and is made public in compliance with article 14.3 of the same regulation. The electoral call that originates the constitution of the body is that of the elections to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate, approved by Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5, for the dissolution of the chambers and the call for elections.

The Provincial Electoral Board is the body that ensures the legality of the electoral procedure in the constituency of Lleida, from the proclamation of candidacies to the scrutiny and the proclamation of the results. Its constitution is the mandatory previous step for the electoral machinery of the district to become operational for November 29.

Composition of the Provincial Electoral Board

The constitutive session of October 9 appointed the judicial members who make up the body, all of whom come from the judicial career and the judicial secretariat:

  • President: Ana Cristina Sainz Pereda.
  • First judicial member: Albert Montell García.
  • Second judicial member: Joan Lluis Cardona Ibañez.
  • Secretary: Luis González Jiménez.

The headquarters of the Provincial Electoral Board of Lleida is at Carrer Canyeret 1, civil section of the Provincial Court, 25007 Lleida, and its contact email is jep_lleida@xij.gencat.cat. The edict was signed by the secretary of the body, Luis González Jiménez, on October 9, 2026.

The six zonal electoral boards are also constituted

The same issue 195 of the gazette includes the initial constitution of the zonal electoral boards of the Lleida district, all of them constituted on October 9, 2026, and published on the same date:

  • Zonal Electoral Board of Lleida (edict 8493): president Marta Monrabà Egea; judicial members Cristina Maria Angulo Guinda and Maria Lourdes Martí Carrera; secretary Jose Manuel Garcia Grau.

The edicts of the zonal boards are based on article 14.1 of Organic Law 5/1985 and, in most cases, expressly invoke Royal Decree 806/2026 and the general elections of November 29. The texts from Cervera and La Seu d’Urgell, on the other hand, refer to Decree 60/2024, of March 18, calling for elections to the Parliament of Catalonia.

A preliminary step to the electoral calendar

With the constitution of the Provincial Electoral Board and the six zonal boards, the Lleida constituency completes the administrative structure that must govern the electoral process until November 29. From this moment, these bodies assume competence over appeals, incidents, and the supervision of the polling stations and the scrutiny in the district.

Publication in the official bulletin validates and publicizes the appointments, so that parties, candidates, and voters know who comprises the bodies to which they must address themselves during the campaign and the election day.
