Baix Ebre County Council approves sanitation works for Bítem and Colònia Gasol

The Plenary of the Baix Ebre County Council approved the project on 31 July 2026, with the electronic signature of the president Antoni Gilabert Rodríguez on 14 August. The file was published this Tuesday, 18 August, in the BOPT under reference CVE-2026-07856 to initiate the tendering and public information procedures.

Investment and budget items

The project, drafted by the engineering firm AUDINGINTRAESA S.A. (currently META ENGINEERING, S.A.), has a material execution budget of €1,665,236.88. Added to this figure are general expenses (13%) and industrial profit (6%), resulting in a contract budget excluding VAT of €1,981,631.88.

• VAT (21%): €416,142.70
• Contract budget including VAT: €2,397,774.57
• Budget for the Administration’s knowledge (expropriations): €81,673.40
• Total budget for the Administration’s knowledge: €2,479,447.97

Location and scope of the works

The works will be carried out in the Municipal District of Tortosa, specifically covering the areas of Bítem and Colònia Gasol. These infrastructures are part of the public high-level sanitation system of Catalonia, as established by the PGSAC, with planning code C1.104_5.

The aim is to guarantee adequate treatment and sanitation for these areas to comply with current environmental and health requirements.

Public information procedures

A 30-business-day public information period has been opened for the submission of objections and claims regarding the project and the list of assets and rights affected by the expropriation. This publication has been made in the BOPT, the Official Gazette of the Government of Catalonia (DOGC) and the notice board of the Baix Ebre County Council.

In addition, the agreements will be forwarded to the Tortosa City Council and the Bítem Local Entity (EMD), as well as to the Catalan Water Agency and other bodies responsible for affected services for the issuance of relevant reports.

Improvement of public services

The commissioning of these works will represent a significant improvement for the residents of Bítem and Colònia Gasol, ensuring more efficient and sustainable hydraulic infrastructure. This project underscores the commitment of the Baix Ebre County Council to improving basic infrastructure and protecting the environment in the territory.
